Maestría en Gestión Ambiental, 2022-07-11) Veliz Zambrano, Narcisa Alexandra; Fernández Sánchez, Lineth del RocíoIn this research thesis, a comparative analysis of noise levels due to vehicular traffic in two educational institutions in the city and province of Esmeraldas was carried out. The investigation begins with the development of the introduction, where the general objective, the specific objectives and the justification that allowed visualizing the problems that exist in the surroundings of the Sagrado Corazón Fiscal Educational Unit and in the Walter Quiñones Sevilla Fiscal Educational Unit were formulated. The study area was established in the surroundings of the institutions, with the fixed distance grid methodology and the nodes of the grids were taken as the monitoring points to fully cover the extension of the field study and noise monitoring. . We proceeded to search for information about noise pollution in existing studies at the cantonal, provincial, regional, national and international levels, in order to collect information regarding the existing problems in the institutions, regulations in force in Ecuador and the methodologies that are the basis of this research thesis. When obtaining the results of the monitoring, the proposal was made for the creation of noise maps according to the study sector, taking into account the methodology for the processing and manipulation of monitored information using the Qgis 3.2 software. Once the noise pollution information was collected, the statistical and cartographic analysis was carried out, to obtain the results on the noise mapping with respect to the permissible levels according to the use of the land, and the population that lives in the sectors. monitored according to the provisions of the Ministerial Agreement 097 A. And finally, the conclusions and recommendations corresponding to the objectives that were proposed in the investigation were drawn up.Item Estimación del contenido de carbono del bosque y pastizal en Tambo-Palictahua, Cantón Penipe para proponer estrategias para su conservación(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Maestría en Gestión Ambiental, 2022-07-11) Ortiz Cruz, Lisseth Paola; Fernández Sánchez, Lineth del RocíoThe general objective of this research was to estimate the carbon content of the forest and grassland in Tambo-Palictahua, Penipe canton to propose strategies for its conservation; It began being explanatory because the soil samples (forest and grassland) were characterized and later they were subjected to physical-chemical analysis that was carried out at the INIAP of the city of Quito. Then it became exploratory since having the results of the laboratory estimated the amount of carbon between the forest and the grassland, finally it was experimental because through a random experimental design (simple random sampling) the samples were taken in the two study areas. From the results of the laboratory it was obtained that the carbon content did not vary significantly (p>0.05) between the forest floor (0.89 ± 0.06 ) and the grassland (0.82 ± 0.14), therefore, the null hypothesis was accepted, although it was observed that there is a greater amount of carbon in the forest this may have been due to the vegetation present in it such as: Actinidiaceae, Araliaceae, Asteraceae, Buxaceae, Lauraceae, Cunnoniaceae, among other species: Solanum venosum, Oreopanax ecuadorensis, Vallea stipularis, Miconia bracteolata, Grosvenoria campii, Escallonia myrtillides, in addition, it was considered that this sampling was carried out in winter (august). The results obtained allowed to conclude that soil organic carbon (COS) is fundamental for biological activity, the difference in the amount of carbon in both the forest (0.89Mgha-1) and grassland (0.82Mgha-1) is not significant, however, these forest areas accumulate atmospheric carbon and contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gases (GHG) (CO2 equivalent), as well as the accumulation of carbon in biomass and soil, helps in the control of emissions produced by deforestation and the improvement of land use practices.Item Estimación del efecto del cambio climático y la pérdida de agrobiodiversidad en la parroquia de Cunchibamba, cantón Ambato(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Maestría en Gestión Ambiental, 2022-07-26) Tigmasa Paredes, Katherine Paola; Fernández Sánchez, Lineth del RocíoThe agriculture sector is highly dependent on the climate, the increase in temperature and variations in the precipitation regime cause alterations in the productivity of this sector. Human activity, including agriculture, is largely responsible for global climate change; however, the agricultural sector also faces environmental impacts such as soil degradation, lack of water, loss of agrobiodiversity, among others. It is essential to understand that food and the means to produce it come from the existing biodiversity in agricultural ecosystems, so using sustainable production methods could be an alternative to minimize the effects of climate change on the agricultural sector. The purpose of this research is to estimate the effect of climate change and the loss of agrobiodiversity in the parish of Cunchibamba in the canton of Ambato, for which a bibliographic and documented research was used, with a quantitative approach through the collection of information by means of the application of previously elaborated surveys that cover topics about agrobiodiversity, climate change and food security, which were carried out to farmers in the area. The population chosen for the research consisted of 210 farmers in the area. Based on the results obtained from the survey, it can be said that climate change significantly affects the agrobiodiversity of the Cunchibamba parish located in the Ambato canton, thus fulfilling the hypothesis H1, registering the loss of some varieties of crops, plants, amphibians, and birds. According to the data obtained, it was possible to identify a high degree of ignorance of the subject among the inhabitants of the population, which is why training focused on environmental education is of great importance for the sector.
