Mg.The adolescence is considered as one of the evolutive stages of the human being, with more emphasis on the psychological aspect due to the development in personality which mostly depends on the paternal bonds growth: therefore the objective of this academic project is to determine the relation between parental bonds and impulsiveness in adolescents, due to the high occurrence of the latter in this age group. This investigation design presents a correlation with a quantitative methodology, cross-sectional and field study as well. There were 72 adolescents selected for the study, around the age of 16, coming from a private high school in the city of Ambato – Ecuador, the teenagers were chosen using inclusion criteria. The mechanisms used were the Parental Bonding Instrument (B.P.I) and the Barratt impulsiveness scale (BIS-11). Thereupon by using the statistical software “Statical Package For The Social Sciences (SPSS)” it was concluded that based on the results the parental bond coming from the father has statistical correlation with the levels of impulsiveness due to the independent elements of this parental bond, by contrast, it was determined that there is no significant association between the parental bond of the mother and the impulsiveness. Besides, it´s been identified that the parental bond type known as “affectionless control” is the most dominant in the mother and father figure, whereas the mid-level impulsiveness is the one that showed most frequency.
