Item TRASPLANTE DE MICROBIOTA FECAL Y SUPLEMENTACIÓN DE VITAMINA D EN EL SÍNDROME DE INTESTINO IRRITABLE(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Medicina, 2024-06-07) Buitrón Carrera, Lizbeth Rosana; Torres Torres, Johny MauricioIntroduction: Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a common and chronic medical problem. Fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT) and vitamin D supplementation have been proposed as potential treatments. Objective: The objective of our systematic review was to investigate the efficacy of FMT and vitamin D supplementation in the treatment of IBS. Methodology: A comprehensive search was conducted in relevant medical databases to select studies that evaluated FMT and vitamin D supplementation in patients with IBS. Both randomized clinical trials and observational studies were included. Results: The studies included in the review demonstrated that FMT and vitamin D supplementation improved IBS symptoms compared to control groups. The combination of both therapies showed promising results. Conclusions: The results indicate that FMT and vitamin D supplementation could be effective treatments for IBS. However, further research is needed to confirm these findings and establish treatment guidelines.
