The present research project was carried out with the objective of identifying the levels of work stress and its relationship with personality traits in teachers. The methodology applied was based on a quantitative, descriptive, correlational and cross-sectional approach, working with a population sample of 68 teachers (27 men and 41 women) belonging to the Salcedo Educational Unit. The ILO-WHO Work Stress Scale was used for work stress and the Big Five Questionnaire (BFQ), based on the Big Five model, was used for personality traits. The analysis of the results was carried out using Spearman's Rho test, which determined that work stress has a low negative correlation with the Mental Openness dimension, therefore, it is observed that the lower the level of stress, the higher the intellectual curiosity, the greater the description of new experiences and creativity in teachers. In relation to work stress, it was found that low levels predominate in teachers with 82.4%. Regarding personality, it is evident that the factor that stands out among teachers was Emotional Stability with a mean score of 58.10. With respect to sex, it was found that women have a higher level of emotional stability than men, with a statistically significant difference between the two, concluding that women are more secure, strong, balanced and have a greater capacity to deal with conflicts than men.
