Item Alteraciones metabólicas en el paciente sedentario durante la pandemia, una revisión bibliográfica(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Medicina, 2022-11) Criollo Pazmiño, Kevin Eduardo; Morales Solís, Jorge Marcelo Dr. Esp.The sedentary lifestyle is sitting for a long time either at work or free time without expending energy, this causes obesity and other components of the metabolic syndrome that affect people. There are numerous studies in which the main consequences are identified. metabolic and increased insulin resistance, total body fat, abdominal fat and inflammatory cytokines. All these factors have been strongly associated with the development of metabolic syndrome, which in turn increases the risk of multiple chronic diseases. Hypertension, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases have been identified as possible risk factors for generating serious disease in patients suffering from the disease caused by the SARS COV 2 virus, a pathogen that is involved in the current pandemic. Therefore, proper management of metabolic disorders could be important in reducing the risk of severe COVID-19.
