    The present research work aims to determine the benefits of the application of the PECS system in the language area of a patient diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, this research being of a qualitative type, it describes the characteristics of said disorder and the complications that occur. They present a level of the language area. ASD is defined as a group of developmental disorders that cause deficiencies in different degrees of skills and social interrelationships in verbal and non-verbal communication in children and adolescents. This was diagnosed in a 5-year-old female patient, with involvement of the language area, it was evaluated using the Nelson Ortiz Test, obtaining as a result a significant deficit in the four areas of development, at the same time the need is seen To find a method that allows you to enable these areas, the benefits that previous studies have had on the application of the aforementioned system are detailed, which will improve the quality of life of the patient, with each activity proposed in the treatment plan, thus working on cognitive functions such as: attention, concentration, memory
