Item LUDOTERAPIA EN NIÑOS CON SINDROME DE DOWN EN EL DOMINIO DE EQUILIBRIO(2025-02-27) Garzón Hidalgo María de los Angeles; Moscoso Córdova Grace Verónica; Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de FisioterapiaDown syndrome is associated with balance difficulties due to physical and neurological alterations, such as muscular hypotonia and ligamentous laxity, which affect motor development. Play therapy, which uses play as a therapeutic tool, has been shown to improve muscle tone, balance, and strength in these children. The objective of this research was to evaluate the impact of play therapy on the balance of children with Down syndrome. The Pediatric Balance Scale (PBS) test and the Psychomotor Development Test (TEPSI) were used on a sample of 25 children with Down syndrome, both boys and girls, aged between 3 and 12 years. The training program consisted of 12 sessions of 45 minutes, scheduled 3 times per week. The results indicate that playful activities improve both static and dynamic balance, with dynamic balance showing the greatest impact on the participants' daily lives.
