Cl. Mg.This research aims to determine the relationship between dissociative experiences and memory. Population of this project is the first semester students at Health Sciences Department of Technical University of Ambato, who will be the beneficiaries while the evaluation and results reflect specific needs of the population. Dissociative experiences are common psychological circumstances of every human being, ranging from normality to pathology. This may affect people normal performance. Dissociative Experiences Scale DES-II provides an overall result, with three subscales: dissociative amnesia, depersonalization and absorption or fantasy. On the other hand, memory is one of the most complex mental functions, because it forms person identity. Neuropsi is a neuropsychological battery that evaluates memory, working memory, encoding processes and evocation. For data analysis SPSS, a statistical software was used through the chi-square test and Fisher's exact test. It results there is no relationship between these two variables. Although, in Clinical Laboratory degree it exists a relationship between depersonalization DES-II scale and Neuropsi global memory scale and in Medicine degree there is also a relationship between depersonalization subscale of the DES-II and Neuropsi working memory subscale. Study of dissociation and its implications in memory generates contributions to ratify the hierarchy of dissociative experiences in psychiatry, psychology and psychotherapy. In addition, it identified the need to standardize both test to the Ecuadorian population.
