Item “Responsabilidad sexual en estudiantes de la Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud de la Universidad Técnica de Ambato”(Universidad Técnica de Ambato - Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud - Carrera de Enfermería, 2018-05-01) Melo Terán, Mireya Alejandra; Analuisa Jiménez, Eulalia Isabel Lic., Mg.Currently young people are exposed to a high vulnerability in the exercise of their sexuality by not assuming a responsible sexual behavior with the use of methods of contraception that not only avoid unwanted pregnancies but the contraction of diseases, reason for which the present project had the objective of evaluating the knowledge of the students of the Faculty of Health Sciences of the Technical University of Ambato on sexual responsibility. For the development of the research, a bibliographical-documentary, field, observational and descriptive methodology was used that included 297 students of the Faculty of Health Sciences who were administered a survey on sexual responsibility. As a result of the research it was identified that the majority of the students of the Faculty of Health Sciences do not apply a sexual responsibility, because even though 71.2% initiated their sexual relations between 16 and 19 years of age and 63.3% are sexually active, they say they do not use contraceptive methods or if they do so it is rarely, a situation that puts them at risk in the case of unwanted pregnancies and sexually transmitted diseases. So it is concluded that the knowledge on sexual responsibility that the students of the Health Sciences Faculty of the Technical University of Ambato have are insufficient to carry out a responsible sexual life that implies the decision making and safe behaviors
