(2025-03-05) Morales Veintimilla, Esteban Samuel; Bonilla Basantes, Paulina Jhojana; Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Psicología Clínica
Subjective well-being is defined as the evaluation an individual makes of themselves and their life, considering both personal and social aspects. Life satisfaction, on the other hand, refers to the perceived quality of experiences lived at specific moments. Both concepts are intrinsically related to the individual's characteristics and their interaction with the environment in which they develop. The general objective of this study was to determine the relationship between subjective well-being and life satisfaction in university students. The methodology used was quantitative, descriptive, correlational, non-experimental, and crosssectional. The sample consisted of a non-probabilistic convenience sampling of 95 university students aged 18 to 25 from the city of Ambato. The Ryff Psychological Well-Being Scale and the Satisfaction with Life Scale were used. The results showed a moderate positive relationship between subjective wellbeing and life satisfaction. Additionally, it was found that there was no statistical significance between genders regarding life satisfaction, indicating that, within the context of the study, gender did not play a differentiating role in the variables analyzed.
