(2025-03-06) Rojano García, Pamela Lissette; Altamirano López, Lorena Fernanda; Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Psicología Clínica
In the midst of the complex emotional situation of our current society, which represents significant challenges for the state, society in general and the public health system, it has become evident that there is a prevalence between impulsivity and suicidal ideation, especially affecting young people in academic environments. Impulsivity can lead to risky decisions or destructive behaviors, while suicidal ideation reflects a deep emotional distress considering the possibilities of ending one's life. In order to reach an accurate conclusion of this study, a sample of 196 male and female students between 18 and 28 years of age was used. The objectives of this research were to study the relationship between impulsivity and suicidal ideation in university students of a university in the city of Ambato, province of Tungurahua, to evaluate both variables according to gender, through a quantitative, non-experimental cross-sectional study. The instruments used were Barratt's Impulsivity Scale and Beck's Suicidal Ideation Scale. The results showed a very low positive correlation between impulsivity and suicidal ideation, moderate impulsivity is observed to prevail in this population with 79.1%, as well as mild suicidal ideation with 32.7%, and no significant differences were found in terms of gender.

(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Psicología Clínica, 2023-01-01) Villarroel López, Anabel Silvana; Bonilla Basantes, Paulina Jhojana Ps. Cl. Mg.
Adolescence represents a periodo of significant changes that can have a positive or negative impact in the child´s life, not to mention the easy access to alcoholic beverages and discomfort associated with the family, school, social and personal environment. The objective of the research was to analyze the relationship between alcohol use and suicidal ideation in adolescents, through out a quantitative, descriptive-correlational and crosssectional study with a population of 92 adolescents between 12- and 17-year-old. The Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test (AUDIT) and the Suicide Intent Scale (SSI) were administered, identifying the harmful use of alcohol and acute level of suicidal ideation present in the youth population without a statistically significant difference between sexes, finally a low positive correlation between the variables is established, thus determining the importance of continuing with relevant studies for prevention, detection and treatment of this problem in the population studied.

Cl. Mg.
The present study focused its research on the variables of psychological well-being and suicidal ideation, with the objective of finding the relationship between them, as well as the relationship of the variables with sociodemographic conditions, for this purpose a sample of 104 adolescents of both sexes from two educational institutions in the city of Ambato was required. Psychological well-being can be defined as the subjective perception of positive and negative affects, for the evaluation of this variable the psychological reagent "Psychological Well-Being Scale for Adolescents" Scale (BIEPS- J) was used, whose author is María Martina Casullo, this scale allows analyzing the basic dimensions of psychological well-being such as: social bonds, control of situations, projects and self-acceptance; on the other hand, the variables of suicidal ideation were evaluated by means of the psychological reagent "Suicidal Intentionality Scale" (SSI) whose author is Beck, adapted by Rodríguez-Pulido F and González de Rivera F, which allows identifying the attitude towards life and death, suicidal ideation, planning of the attempt and previous attempts. The statistical package for social sciences (SPSS) version 25 was used for data analysis, using the Rho Spearman statistical test, which showed the existence of a negative and statistically significant correlation (p<0.05) between psychological well-being and suicidal ideation in the population participating in the study.
