FUNCIONES EJECUTIVAS Y SATISFACCIÓN CON LA VIDA EN PERSONAS CON DISCAPACIDAD
(2025-03-05) Pozo Lascano, Katherin Anahi; Flores Hernández, Fernanda Verónica; Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Psicología Clínica
The objective of this study was to determine the relationship between Executive Functions and Satisfaction with Life in people with disabilities. We worked with a sample of 40 participants between 20 and 64 years old, belonging to a day center for people with disabilities in Tungurahua. The research presented a quantitative approach, with descriptive scope and a non-experimental design was used. Two instruments were used for data collection: the INECO Frontal Screening (IFS) and the Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS). The results revealed that there is no significant relationship between Executive Functions and Satisfaction with Life. However, the low scores in Executive Functions suggested that a large part of the participants could have characteristics of cognitive impairment, on the other hand, regarding the second variable, the majority of the population reported high levels, that is, they were very satisfied with their life. Finally, a gender comparison was made to find out who was more satisfied with their life, but the results did not reveal significant differences.

PROPIEDADES PSICOMÉTRICAS DEL INSTRUMENTO NEUROPSICOLÓGICO INECO FRONTAL SCREENING (IFS) EN POBLACIÓN CON DISCAPACIDAD
(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Psicología Clínica, 2024-09-09) Tipán Llumiguano, Anahi Ibeth; Flores Hernández, Verónica Fernanda
The study population with disability characteristics showed physical, mental, intellectual or sensory impairment, which has triggered environmental and social barriers . These people show limitations to their cognitive capabilities, specifically the execut i v e functions themselves, which are key to addressing challenges and goals, by integrat i n g elements such as inhibition, working memory, cognitional flexibility and planning that will improve the quality of life of this population group. The INECO instrument was applied to 90 adults institutionalized in inclusive centres of Tungurahua – Ecuador, using the instrument evaluated their structure, reliability and comparison of scores by sex, showing high internal consistency (coeficiente alfa de Cronbach de 0.834). The results indicated that the IFS has a single "executive functions" factor, explaining 46.3% of the variance, with each item showing a significant load on this factor, confirming its uniqueness. In summary, IFS is a reliable and useful tool for evaluating executi v e functions in persons with disabilities, highlighting its focus on the executive performa n c e factor and its strong internal consistency.

“Las funciones ejecutivas y su relación con la autoeficacia en estudiantes universitarios”
(Universdidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Carrera de Psicología Clínica, 2020-03-01) Núñez Núñez, Alexis Mauricio; García Ramos, Diana Carolina Psi. Cl. Mg.
The present study determined the relationship between executive functions and general self-efficacy in university students, constructs measured by the NEUROPSI Test and General Self-efficacy Scale (EAG) in a sample of 110 university students of the clinical psychology career, with an age range between 17 and 27 years old, were selected under exclusion and inclusion criteria. The results showed that most of the university students present a level of normal executive functioning, no people with severe functioning levels were found, nor with high normal functioning levels, they did not show significant differences between men and women. More than half of the investigated population presented a medium level of self-efficacy, followed by high and low level, the highest scores were in men. For the verification of the correlation hypothesis of the executive functions and the level of general self-efficacy a correlation statistic was used, in this case, given the breach of the assumption of normality, a non-parametric test, the Spearman rho, will be applied. Once the data were analyzed, it was concluded that there is no correlation between the general scores of executive functions and general self-efficacy, but the capacity for inhibition, planning and action with the general perceived self-efficacy were positively associated; Low positive correlation between the formation of categories and phonological fluency and low negative between the same variable and the interference time Stroop.

“Perfil ejecutivo en niños y niñas con y sin bajo rendimiento escolar”
(Universidad Técnica de Ambato - Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud - Carrera de Psicología Clínica, 2019-02-01) Mesías Bonilla, Victoria Elizabeth; Lara Salazar, Cristina Mariela Mg.Ps. Inf.
The objective of this study was to compare the executive profile in children with and without low school performance of the Educational Unit Jerusalem. A design of descriptive and correlational type was used. The study population was 72 children of both genders between the ages of 6 and 12 years, from second to seventh grade. They were evaluated through the Neuropsychological Evaluation of Executive Functions in children and current grades reported by teachers. The results found were that the executive profile of boys and girls with low school performance presented similar levels in some domains and deficient in others, unlike the executive profile of boys and girls without low school performance who showed better scores in some domains and similarities. When performing the Mann Whitney U statistical test it was found that executive functions influence academic performance, with 99% reliability, indicating a directly proportional relationship between the variables.
