Item DETERMINACIÓN DE LA COMPOSICIÓN CORPORAL EN DEPORTISTAS DE ALTO RENDIMIENTO DE LA CIUDAD DE AMBATO(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Nutrición y Dietética, 2024-09-27) Lascano López, Elsie Germania; Galarza Esparza, William BayardoThe purpose of this research was to analyze the body composition of high performance athletes and compare it with a control group, and we were able to determine that the BMI is not an adequate indicator to evaluate an athlete due to the alterations that he/she has according to weight and the amount of muscle mass. The study was a descriptive cross-sectional study with a sample of 38 athletes between 19 and 30 years of age, 14 of high performance, 13 men and 1 woman and 24 of control group, all men, in which through a bioimpedance study allowed us to compare their percentage of fat mass and muscle mass in relation to their weight according to the time and type of training and if there is a relationship between both groups, The results were obtained through a Chi-square statistical test to be able to cross variables, where there is no relationship between the control group and the high performance group based on their BMI and muscle mass. However, in the percentages of fat mass, there was little significant difference in relation to the high performance athletes and the control group since both were between normal and high ranges. With respect to hydration, it was found that high performance athletes have better total body water levels due to their muscle percentage, their water levels are more stable compared to the control group, therefore, it was determined that the BMI should not be used to evaluate a high performance athlete because most of them will be overweight and even obese due to their musculature.Item VALORACIÓN DEL ESTADO NUTRICIONAL PRE-COMPETENCIA DE CHEERLEADING DE LA ZONA 3(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Nutrición y Dietética, 2024-09-25) Tovar Mejía, Marcela Salomé; Robayo Zurita, Verónica AlexandraNutrition in sports has evolved significantly in recent years, adapting to the requirements of athletes and changes according to the specific needs in the pre-competition, during and post-competition training phase. The correct identification of the nutritional status will allow the detection of nutritional risks, therefore, carrying out periodic nutritional interventions will avoid complications such as injuries, fatigue, fainting, cramps, electrolyte imbalance, dehydration, delayed muscle recovery, among others. Now, studies on ergogenic aids for sports nutrition impact athletes taking into account the increase in protein caloric requirement, carbohydrate intake, adequate hydration, or additional supplementation optimizing sports development, improving physical strength abilities. , resistance, speed and flexibility and increasing power when performing exercises. Inadequate nutrition and lack of physical activity are key factors in developing cardiovascular and metabolic health problems, overweight and obesity, especially in the young adult population. Therefore, the main objective of the research is to evaluate the pre-competition nutritional status of Zone 3 Cheerleading in order to contribute to improving nutritional status. The methodology used the collection of anthropometric data on weight, height, waist circumferences, bioimpedance evaluation and application of a food consumption frequency questionnaire. The population of Cheerleading athletes from the Cotopaxi Sports Federation (FDC) was considered who met inclusion criteria such as training for a competition, 3 years of experience, and accepting informed consent.Item Análisis de la composición corporal con relación al tipo de actividad física y consumo alimentario en jóvenes adultos de entre 18 – 25 años de una federación deportiva de la zona 3(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Nutrición y Dietética, 2023-09-01) Querido Santamaría, Jazmín Gabriela; Pasochoa Miniguano, Fausto Enrique Dr.Body Composition is of great importance in sports and health to estimate physical and nutritional status, thanks to which it has been possible to diagnose and prevent overweight, obesity and other diseases of cardiovascular and metabolic origin that drastically affect health. In the same way, healthy eating is closely related to the wellbeing of the organism. The objective of this research is to analyze the body composition in relation to the type of physical activity and food consumption in young adults between 18 - 25 years of a federation. This is a descriptive cross-sectional study with a sample of 125 athletes from 5 disciplines (Athletics, Basketball, Soccer, Swimming and Taekwondo) of both sexes (91 men and 34 women). Food consumption was identified through a survey of eating habits in which the consumption of fruits, vegetables, cereals, proteins, dairy products and fast foods was evidenced. Weight, height, BMI, and percentages of lean and fat mass were also measured using a bioimpedance scale. The statistical analysis was carried out with the statistical program SPSS and it was shown that Soccer contributes to the maintenance of the musculature in the body but the most effective discipline for the generation of a greater amount of muscle mass in the body is Swimming. In the same way, food and knowing how to choose the food we consume is also a fundamental point that goes hand in hand with sport.Item Intervención con Mindfulness en niveles de ansiedad y autoconfianza de deportistas(Universdidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Centro de posgrados, 2021-09-01) Lafebre Mosquera, Christian Dominick Psc Cl.; Larzabal Fernandez, AitorMsc.The main objective was to reduce anxiety levels and strengthen self- confidence in athletes with an intervention in Mindfulness, in order to obtain better results in competition and improve their competitive levels. This project was launched due to the need for an intervention that would allow them to improve their performance since championships are constantly being generated in the different parishes of the city, it should be noted that the COVID-19 Pandemic generated a total stoppage in the activities of the athletes, which had an impact on their physical and mental state, being essential to intervene in young athletes. According to research at a global and national level, these research variables are among the main ones that affect sports performance in athletes from different sports branches. The research was carried out with a control group and an intervention group with 26 young athletes aged between 18 and 20 years belonging to neighborhood soccer leagues, an instrument was applied that measured both anxiety levels and self- x v confidence, the applied intervention was specialized for athletes in the field of Mindfulness which has been used in other sports research. The efficacy of the intervention was statistically verified with favorable and significant results for the athletes, in the control group they were not found significant. It was concluded that the intervention achieved significant results in the athletes when competing, reducing their anxiety before, during and after the competition; and the didactic material helped with the strengthening of selfconfidence. Emphasis is placed on the benefits that athletes will have in future competitions, obtaining greater sporting achievements and learning from failures, avoiding sports desertion. Ft. Mg.The athlete, being in a constant practice of exercise, goes through permanent changes to reach sporting perfection, which implies training sessions, preparation in the intervals for specific competitions with optimal results. The preparation influences a high level of competition which implies a series of difficulties such as: willingness to train, difficulty in the sporting tacit, lack of preparation, insecurity in the activities, possible musculoskeletal injuries, being worrying to have an optimal sporting level. The core at a sporting level maintains more effective movements to improve the direction of movement, to have a better career, to lift heavy objects, to maintain posture, to improve breathing, to reduce injuries, taking into account that a good musculature in the central zone acts as a protector for the abdominopelvic part which is weak due to the absence of bony structures. The execution of core strengthening exercises should be planned according to the needs of each person, the middle zone maintains control between the transfer of strength in the lower and upper limbs of the human body in sports practice, for the lower zone the strengthening of the trunk extension is maintained, being important to maintain functional training in the different body segments, identifying the co - contraction of the muscles of the modifying the physiological curvatures of the spine, benefiting sports performance and injury preventionItem “Ejercicios de resistencia aeróbicos controlados en deportistas con síndrome de down: evaluación cardiorrespiratoria”(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Carrera de Terapia Física, 2020-02-01) Mata Córdova, Carla Doménica; Espín Pastor, Victoria Estefanía Lcda. Mg.The present research was done with the purpose of determining the effects of the controlled aerobic exercises application in Down’s syndrome athletes who are part of Ecuador Special Olympics team in Quito city. This population was chosen in order to know about the athletes` physical condition and determining the effectiveness of a intervention to achieve a better sport performance. This is a quantitative, bibliographic and field camp study with 6 male athlete participants who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Once the population was established in the football and athletic disciplines, the evaluation was carried out by applying the Cooper test. Tools such as: digital wrist tensiometer and pulse oximeter, useful to record data of the following parameters were used: heart rate, respiratory rate, saturation and blood pressure, key points in the investigation. The intervention consisted of 3 times per week sesion of aerobic exercises. Data were collected and recorded at the beginning and the end of the training sesions during 8 weeks. It was concluded that aerobic exercises are a useful tool to improve all parameters such as: heart rate, respiratory rate and systolic and diastolic blood pressure. It also helps athletes to have a better performance in sport and improve their lifestyle because they decrease their body mass index.Item “Relación de la capacidad funcional de miembros inferiores y el aparecimiento de lesiones en los deportistas de la Universidad Técnica de Ambato”(Universidad Técnica de Ambato - Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud - Carrera de Terapia Física, 2019-09-01) Recalde Erazo, Melany Thifany; Córdova Velasco, Luís Ernesto Dr. Esp.Many of the debates are oriented towards knowing the functional capacity of lower members of athletes and that this in turn can predict the suffering of injuries in them and the return to sports. Thus, the present research work was carried out with the purpose of establishing a relationship between the functional capacity of lower limbs and the appearance of injuries in athletes of the Technical University of Ambato. This population was taken due to the existence of a variety of sports such as: crossfit, basketball, soccer, climbing, cycling, calisthenics, among others. This is an observational study with a quantitative and qualitative approach, as well as being transversal, explanatory, descriptive, bibliographic and field, in which 55 athletes from different disciplines that met the inclusion criteria were included. Once the population to be investigated was determined, useful tools were used for the development of this study, such as the Lower Extremity Advanced Sports Assessment (VDAEI) test by Christie Powell, which has been a battery of tests for lower limbs that includes squats. , jumps, careers and balance, a data collection sheet was also used, detailing personal background and informed consent. At the end of the investigation, some important conclusions were established.Item Incidencia de la Incontinencia Urinaria en Deportistas(Universidad Técnica de Ambato.- Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud .- Terapia Física, 2016-11-01) Montoya Verdesoto, Nelly Gabriela; Ortiz Villalva Lcda. Ft. Mg., Paola GabrielaThis research aimed to know the incidence of urinary incontinence in athletes, one of the usual and most referenced in scientific literature ICIQ- SF questionnaire was used, this is a questionnaire that is aimed at detecting symptoms of urinary incontinence in any care setting. This research is qualitative approach because surveys are used to determine the incidence of urinary incontinence in athletes as these will guide the understanding of the problem under study and discovery of the hypothesis. This research is descriptive as it is used to describe characteristics of the study population. It is also a studio survey as interviews and questionnaires to participants will be used. In the group that worked were 68 students who were administered the survey only once, ie it is a cross-sectional study, data were analyzed, tabulated and processed using descriptive and inferential statistics through the incidence rate which identifies the incidence of urinary incontinence in athletes. This was determined that there are 26 students who have presented episodes of urine loss, these account for 38.32% of the total study population.
