Item ACTUALIZACIÓN DE LA EVALUACIÓN DEL DOLOR CRÓNICO DE ORIGEN MUSCULOESQUELÉTICO(2025-02-27) Pilatasig Zambrano, Dayeli Mercedes; Moscoso Córdova, Grace Verónica; Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de FisioterapiaChronic pain is considered as pain that persists for more than 3 months, affecting the daily activities of around 14% of the population; approximately 9.3% face difficulties in leading an independent life, which generates various limitations caused by pain. That is why this research aims to establish the current methods for evaluating chronic musculoskeletal pain. A systematic literary review was carried out from a search in different Pubmed and Google Scholar databases, taking articles from the last 10 years, MeSH terms were added and the search was guided by the PRISMA method. A total of 10 articles were selected, including 8 randomized clinical trials, 1 clinical measurement study, 1 cross-sectional observational study. This study included 10 questionnaires distributed as follows: 1 recently developed study, 7 studies validated existing tests in language or population, and 2 validated abbreviations or extensions of the originals. Currently, no specific questionnaires have been created for chronic pain; only 1 original validated questionnaire and 9 others featuring modifications in terms of language, population, or items.Item CALIDAD DE VIDA EN ADULTOS MAYORES AGRICULTORES CON DOLOR CRÓNICO(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Enfermería, 2024-10-03) Gaibor Lezano, Holguer Alejandro; Espín López, Valeria IsabelIntroduction: A relevant component that harms the level of quality of life is the appearance of illnesses associated with pain, especially in adult farmers. The repetitive effort, the maintenance of an incorrect posture, the working conditions and especially in the agricultural environment, I think that your health is deteriorating. Objective: Determine the association of the quality of life of older farmers with chronic pain. Methods: Research with a quantitative focus, observational-transversal design and correlational scope, the population was carried out by older adults who attended the Greater Adult Club “Virgen del Guápulo”, whose sample consisted of 23 people selected through intentional probabilistic sampling based on inclusion and inclusion criteria exclusion, whichever applies three instruments: a sociodemographic survey, the Latineen Index that evaluates chronic pain and quality of life WHOQOL-BREF. Results: The majority of older adults showed moderate pain level (69.6%), regular quality of life (64.7%). The bilateral significance value of the Chi squared test of Verosimilitud Ratio is 0.038<0.05. Conclusions: The investigator's alternative hypothesis is accepted; to decide, if there is an association between the quality of life and the level of pain that adult farmers present.Item DOLOR CRÓNICO Y SU ABORDAJE CON CANNABIDIOL: UNA OPCIÓN TERAPÉUTICA(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Medicina, 2024-09-25) Vega Cueva, John Omar; Salinas Velastegui, Verónica GabrielaIntroduction: chronic pain is a health problem that affects millions of people in the world, generating an important biopsychosocial problem, which is why there are several types of therapeutic approaches, such as the use of cannabidiol for its anti-inflammatory, analgesic and neuroprotective qualities. Objectives: perform a bibliographic review on cannabidiol and how this active ingredient is a treatment option for chronic pain.Materials and methods: a search on cannabidiol as a treatment for chronic pain was carried out in several databases such as: Medline/PubMed, LILACS-BIREME and SciELO, including inclusion and exclusion criteria of the reviewed articles. Results: chronic pain is a condition that is characterized by the persistence of pain for more than 3 months, affecting quality of life and whether or not it is associated with true tissue damage. Worldwide, it affects more than 2 billion people and in Ecuador, about 21% of the population suffers from this pathology. Chronic pain can be of various types such as: neuropathic pain, nociceptive pain, centralized pain, mixed pain and idiopathic pain, which have unique characteristics that allow their differentiation.Cannabidiol has been involved in severalinvestigations to treat chronic pain. This is a chemical compound found in the cannabis plant, along with another variety of so-called cannabinoids, such as tetrahydrocannabidiol (THC), which is characterized by its effects. psychoactive, while cannabidiol lacks them. Generally speaking, cannabidiol acts on the body's endocannabinoid system, which regulates pain, immune function, etc. For this reason, it is believed that cannabidiol can reduce pain and inflammation. Although there is no minimum or maximum dose of cannabidiol to treat chronic pain, it can vary from 10 mg to 6000 mg. Therefore, strengthening research regarding cannabidiol as a therapy for chronic pain is vital to determine if it can be an alternative to the classic treatments that exist for chronic pain. Conclusions: several investigations have been carried out regarding the use of cannabidiol independently as a therapy for the treatment of pain, where no clear results have been found regarding the effectiveness of this medication, in additionto the fact that the result found will depend on the dosage. given to the population that has undergone this treatment scheme.Item USO DEL CANNABIS MEDICINAL EN ELALIVIO DEL DOLOR(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Enfermería, 2024-05-28) Cunalata Castro, Stefania Aracely; Guarate Coronado, Yeisy CristinaIntroduction: The use of cannabis has been a rather controversial issue, starting from its legalization in some countries, the way in which it is consumed either for the benefit of health or recreationally, currently its medicinal use is on the rise due to the fact that analgesic drugs are unfavorable in patients suffering from chronic pain, which has made cannabis an alternative means of pain relief. Methodology: Obtaining the information was based on the PRISMA diagram for the initial search of scientific articles in databases such as: Scopus, PubMed and Google Scholar, using the search equation "medicinal cannabis AND pain". The selection of scientific documents was made using the following inclusion criteria: Articles that were original or systematic review, that the title of the document contains the terms cannabis, pain, health, alternative treatment, pain relief, free access articles in English and Spanish, published between 2018 and 2023. Incomplete documents or whose methodology was not consistent with the subject of the study were excluded. Results: 54 articles were found which allowed to know the benefits that the use of cannabis represents in pain relief.
