(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud /Carrera de Psicología Clínica, 2022-03-01) Barreros Guanin, Roxana Elizabeth; García Ramos, Diana Carolina Ps. Cl. Mg.
The current project was carried out to determine the relationship between impulsivity and social skills with socio-demographic factors in university students. In the case of impulsivity, the “Escala de Control de los Impulsos de Ramón y Cajal” is used, and for social skills, the “Escala de Habilidades Sociales (EHS)” is used in a population of 844 university students. The applied methodology was based on a quantitative approach, since the information extracted through the scales was compared using Spearman's rho, to obtain the corresponding correlation. It was found that the factors proposed in the scale, impulsivity, immediacy, and risk are related to social skills with the exception of the imposition factor. In addition, impulsivity is related to the university, practice a religion, a history of mental illness, and the frequency of alcohol consumption, while social skills are related to university, socioeconomic level, number of children, and frequency of consumption

(Universidad Técnica de Ambato - Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud - Carrera de Psicología Clínica, 2018-12-01) Bonilla Romero, Diana Carolina; García Ramos, Diana Carolina MSc
The present study was a no experimental, cross- sectional investigation of descriptive and correlational type which objective was to determine the relation between cognitive impairment (C.I) and socio-demographic factors in retired seniors of the Retired Pensioners and Military Retirees Association in Salcedo Canton- Ecuador, with a sample of 27 older adults, aged 60- 85. They were evaluated by the Minimental State Exam and a socio-demographic record. The research was of a descriptive and correlation type, where it was concluded that 7.41% have moderate C.I, 44.44% have mild C.I and 48.15% don´t have C.I. After that, the Spearman Correlation concluded that the cognitive impairment does not have a relation with socio- demographic factors. Therefore, it is recommended to carry out workshops to strengthen the different cognitive areas. In other words, it should take into account that the greater the neuronal plasticity, the less cognitive impairment.
