After the surgical procedure, the recovery of patients takes a considerable time. In this sense, the need to apply a hydrotherapy treatment plan based on the Halliwick technique to recover patients with hip arthroplasty is evident in improving their quality of life and making their recovery process shorter and more effective. This study aimed to apply a hydrotherapy treatment plan based on the Halliwick technique in the recovery of patients with hip arthroplasty. The research was an intervention type because the treatment plan was based on the Halliwick technique. It was applicative because of evaluation instruments such as the Modified Harris scales (Functional Status and Pain) and Tinetti (Gait and Balance). It was longitudinal because an initial and final assessment was conducted for reliable results. The intervention was carried out over 13 weeks in 7 phases: initial interview, signing of informed consent plus initial evaluations of the Modified Harris Scale and Tinetti Scale, socialization with the participants, adaptation to the pool plus stretching exercises, execution of the Hydrotherapy Treatment Plan based on the Halliwick technique, and final assessments of the Modified Harris and Tinetti. It was shown that by applying this technique, there was a shorter and more effective recovery, improved postural and gait control, essential aspects for the reintegration of functional mobility, and recovery of independence in daily activities.Item EFECTOS DE LA HIDROTERAPIA EN PACIENTES CON OSTEOARTRITIS DE RODILLA(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Fisioterapia, 2024-08-27) López Sailema, Christian Alexis; Cedeño Zamora, María NarcizaKnee osteoarthritis is a prevalent and disabling musculoskeletal condition that affects a large number of individuals worldwide, characterized by its degenerative nature causing a significant impact on the quality of life of those who suffer from it. The study aimed to determine the effects of hydrotherapy in patients with knee osteoarthri tis , carrying out a systematic review following the guidelines established by the PRISMA Statement, which included an exhaustive search of the scientific literature of the last 5 years in the following databases: PubMed, Scielo, PEDro and Google Scholar, clinica l trials and pilot studies, in English and Spanish that evaluated hydrotherapy as a treatment for patients with knee osteoarthritis were included. The results obtaine d showed significant beneficial effects in the reduction of pain, joint stiffness, function a l capacity and quality of life of patients. In this context, hydrotherapy is considered to represent an effective and safe therapeutic intervention for the management of knee osteoarthritis, complementing or potentially replacing conventional treatm e n t approaches. Mg.The research project focuses specifically on the effects of applied hydrotherapy on paraparesic children with cerebral palsy. The content of the research includes the most important and relevant aspects about the effects of hydrotherapy considered as an alternative therapy. The interest in research comes from the need and importance of providing a better quality of life to people in this case children suffering from paraesthesia and muscular retractions of lower limbs with cerebral palsy. The research project consists of four chapters in which different topics were studied according to the importance and relevance that they report to the study, this was limited to paraparesic students with cerebral palsy from the Ambato Specialized Educational Unit.Item “Hidrocinesiterapia en pacientes con tenorrafia del tendon de Aquiles.”(Universidad Técnica de Ambato - Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud - Carrera de Terapia Fisica, 2017-02-01) Espín Gallegos, Cristian Oswaldo; García González, IvánThe rupture of the Achilles tendon, which is the loss of continuity of the tendon fibers the same as occurs for different reasons, either traumatic or inflammatory processes, occurs at any time of life which disturbs the normal development activities in a standing position; This alteration will lead to trigger many limitations including functional, psychological, labor and economic. 95% of Achilles tendon ruptures are attributed to inflammatory and degenerative processes in the anatomical-functional tendon structure; in most cases it is given by a mechanical alteration and other alterations are unspecific character; highlighting including degeneration of the tendon sheath covering the tendon, by dehydration, micro trauma repetitive given by the inappropriate use of footwear in sports, lack of adaptability of anatomical structures to develop activities to which the tendon it is not conditioned, which ends at the achilles tendon rupture. Among the most characteristic symptom is pain with specific functional impotence, claudication gait and edema Achilles tendon. It will be the feeling of having received a blow or electric shock accompanied a snap and paresthesia (tingling) in the affected limb. Symptoms vary; and it is related to the way in which the injury occurred it could be: abrupt start, false step, a jump, unexpected movement, and rarely when performing ambulation. For this project was taken as a reference hydrokinesitherapy as it is one of the physical agents used by physiotherapists since it allows multiple uses as treatment techniques. The characteristics and properties that water has are very helpful. The Hydrokinesitherapy combined with multiple movements in the water, this technique has been perfected over time, with the use of physical laws and with the knowledge that the human body is also subject to these laws, also taking into account that the body inside of its main components is the water, the effects suffered by being immersed in water are amazing, ranging from physical, metabolic and psychological effects. The hydrokinesitherapy as physiotherapy technique has allowed derivations of many new techniques are performed but always sustained in the basic principles of hydrokinesitherapy, this allows exploit the physical properties of the immersion which develops and enhances the body important factors for recovery as they are : improve proprioception, develop balance, correct the body schema, which will make a further positional changes in different axes in order to get a correct and proper motor memory which allow it to be reproduced out of the water.Item La Hidroterapia como Método Preventivo ante lesiones Osteomusculares en adultos mayores(Universidad Técnica de Ambato-Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud-Carrera Terapia Física, 2016-04-01) González Oviedo, Andrés Sebastián; Garcés Gordon, Lida Carmelina Dr. Ft.The research project developed to analyze important aspects of hydrotherapy in older adults as a preventive method that contributes to the mobility and autonomy to improve the quality of life taking as example members “Identity Group We”, Municipal GAD of Ambato, to evaluate the physical condition through a technical assessment of the musculoskeletal and to assess the effects of hydrotherapy as a preventative method. The dimensions discussed in the therapeutic use of water and treatment and; recovery, maintenance of muscles to an age group with ages over 65 years whose previous injury indicator are as tenditis, bursitis, and inflammation being the most common musculoskeletal level. To collect the information a structured knowledge level of hydrotherapy and function test using the Tinetti scale modified to evaluate balance and gait of the elderly questionnaire was executed, since the higher score is considered that there is better functionality while running or in balance, in order to guide the application of hydrotherapy to improve physical mobility, increased strength and endurance of the elderly.
