In Primary Health Care, the Family Physician is the fundamental pillar in the comprehensive care of the individual, family and community in all stages of life. Faced with the increase in older adults worldwide, the WHO affirms that this age group currently represents 11% of the world population and projects that by 2050 they will represent 22% of the total population in the world. Aging is proportional to the appearance of non-communicable chronic diseases in the elderly, generating a real public health problem. Therefore, it has been seen the need to carry out the present investigation in this age group, whose objective was to establish the relationship between sociocultural determinants and depression in the elderly with type 2 diabetes mellitus and/or hypertension in the central and southern Zumbalica neighborhood in 2020. The research had a cross-sectional, analytical, observational quantitative approach. Universe of 103 older adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus and/or hypertension residing in the central and southern Zumbalica neighborhood. Sample represented by 100 older adults who met the inclusion criteria. A survey was applied which included questions on the sociocultural aspect, the Batalla, Morisky Green tests and the Yesavage geriatric depression scale. The results were that 81% of the older adults studied have depression; being is more frequent in older adults with DM and HTA together. The determinants that are strongly related to depression were sex, marital status, educational instruction, occupation, coexistence, adequate knowledge of the disease and adherence to treatment. In conclusion, sociocultural determinants have a positive relationship in the development of depression in the elderly with DM and / or HTA.

Objectives: Determine the incidence of type 2 diabetes , impaired Fasting glucose and Risk factor's in San Miguelito neighborhoods: Centro and Yacupamba, 2016 and identify the epidemiological, clinical and anthropometric characteristics of prediabetes and type 2 diabetics. Methods: Descriptive cross-sectional study in people over 45 years of the community of San Miguelito: Neighborhoods The Center and Yacupamba 2016. The sample consisted of 166 people calculated using EPI INFO version 7. The sample selection was done by stratified random sampling using the random number generation. FIND RISK test was applied to all patients and laboratory tests performed: fasting glucose test and oral glucose tolerance. Results: The incidence of type 2 diabetes was 2,4%, impaired Fasting glucose 9%. Predominance females , housewives , farmers and traders. People over 64 were the most incidence of impaired Fasting glucose and type 2 diabetes presented. There was statistically significant association between family pathological history, altered prior glycemia, the body mass index and waist circumference increased the risk for impaired Fasting glucose and type 2 diabetes (p=0,001). The categories of high risk and very high risk according to the test find presented with 16.9 % and 1.85 % respectively. Conclusions: Results of this study show that the findings are consistent with other studies supported internationally. The results confirm the strong association between life styles of preventable diet, exercise, overweight with impaired Fasting glucose and type 2 diabetes. The importance of primary care in a timely capture patients with risk factors, and therefore the development of early education programs that promote healthy lifestyles.

This research was conducted in patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus who attended the "OMEGA" Clinical Laboratory whose main objective was the determination of serum fructosamine to relate the increase of this parameter is in relation to the lipid profile. For the selection of the study population to patients I underwent a survey and measurement of fasting glucose in order to verify that meet the inclusion criteria was established to work with female patients and male between the ages of 30 to 60 years, has been found to have Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in less than two years. fasting glucose, total cholesterol, high density lipoprotein (HDL), low density lipoprotein (LDL), triglycerides and fructosamine, in order to meet the objectives, the types of research used were descriptive, correlational and cross-determined. The data obtained from the determination of fructosamine and lipid profile yielded quantitative results and implementation of the survey I offer qualitative information. It was concluded that of the 60 patients 81.7% have values higher fructosamine to 287 pmol / L, 20% had cholesterol values greater than 200 mg / dL, 33.7% had values of high-density lipoprotein ( HDL) less than 35 mg / dL, 70% had values of low density lipoprotein (LDL) slightly increased from 100 to 159 mg / dL and 8.3% had values increased from 160 to 189 mg / dL (High) and 88.3% had triglycerides values greater than 150 mg / dL, giving notice that a large percentage of patients presenting high levels of fructosamine levels lipid profile is going to find altered. hypothesis testing was performed using the Student t test statistic for independent samples that resulted in a margin of error = 0,000 , which is less than 0.005 which is the level of significance to reject the null hypothesis and acceptance of the AC mentioned the lipid profile levels are affected by the increased values of serum fructosamine in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus .

The research Project aims determining the index QUICKI in patients with diabetes mellitus type 2 and its relationship with glycemic control, whereas the most relevant parameters during the treatment of diabetes are the glycemic control and evaluation of insulin resistance to monitor insulin secretion. This research is exploratory and descriptive level, the study was conducted with blood samples from 40 patients with DMT2, with the samples were analyzed, exams of glucose, insulin, fructosamine and determination of the index QUICKI, for determination of insulin resistance. Was effected the respective statistical analysis of each of the elements of the investigation such as gender, weight, sex, and the levels obtained from glucose, insulin, fructosamine and calculating the index QUICKI, whose statistical analyzes were detailed in tables, and later for better visual representation was used boxplots or bar graphs. Through statistical tests: chi-square and Fisher's exact test the null hypothesis was accepted “The determination of the index QUICKI has no relation with glycemic control in patients with diabetes mellitus type 2”. Concluding that there isn’t relationship of dependency between the two variables of the study.
