In this work, the data from the Tilulún Hydrological station with a record of 17 years were used to process them, excluding outliers using the Chauvenet criterion and then applying the Gumbel method in projecting the flood flow for the return periods of 5 , 10, 25, 50, 100 and 140 years, based on the recommendations of the NEVI-12-MTOP Regulation Volume N ° 2 - Book B, the topography of the project was generated based on the elevation models and ortho-photos available from In the city of Ambato that were provided by the Honorable Provincial Government of Tungurahua, the runoff coefficients were determined by means of a field survey guided by the manual of the United States Hydrological Engineering Center for the HEC-RAS software, a program that entered and calibrated all the information collected to generate a flood model for a flow of 115.78 m3 / s, which is presented in plans for the analysis of the areas q They can be affected by the level of the flow or its speed and recommendations are given for the construction of structures at safe distances.
