In this experimental work, the period of vibration was calculated for the structures of the Huachi Loreto sector located between Victor Hugo, Cacique Alvarez, Av. Los Chasquis and Av. Los Atis streets of the city of Ambato, province of Tungurahua, corresponding to acceleration. of gravity Sa (g), taken from the specific deterministic spectrum, to then compare it with the acceleration spectrum proposed by the NEC 2015. To achieve the proposed objectives, a process was followed that included the following steps: establish the tectonic regime based on the area under study, identify and choose the most representative and nearby active geological faults that affect the area under study, by means of the Standard penetration test (SPT) determine the type of soil present, as well as the identification and selection of the equations to be used for calculating the average speed of the shear wave (Vs30), based on the length present between the fault and the place where the standard penetration test (SPT) was performed, the moment magnitude (Mw) is calculated, this for each fault, taking into account parameters such as those previously mentioned (Vs30, Mw, length to the source) adding to these the focal depth, type of fault, type of soil plus the help of the equations of prediction of movement (GMPE`s) is determined deterministic acceleration spectra, When an envelope of all the critical deterministic acceleration spectra is obtained, a specific deterministic spectrum is obtained, which is compared with the spectrum proposed by the NEC 2015.
