    This project presents the need for a road condition study of the urban area of the canton of Ambato. Due to the fact that the city's road infrastructure has been deteriorating over time because it is considered the main economic, social and productive development of the inhabitants. In the present project, studies were carried out to know the road condition of the urban area of the Ambato canton, in which information was collected visually with the use of information sheets, which with the help of a manual GPS detailed the existing faults along the evaluated roads, the level of severity of the condition of the wearing course was identified with the help of the Pavement Condition Index PCI, in order to provide the best option for road maintenance. A referential budget was made for the repair in the study area, and then all the information was compiled in a database, which allowed this project to be of great use. Upon completion of the study to know the road condition of the study area, will be delivered to the GAD Municipality of Ambato for the entity to use the information for the benefit of the community, as a contribution of the Technical University of Ambato.
