Carrera de Ingeniería Civil, 2019) Moreira Lascano, Juan Pablo; Garcés Chávez, Juan EnriqueThe research work proposed below was carried out with the purpose of generating an application through a programming software, which allows specific acceleration spectra to be determined by using different Movement Prediction Equations (GMPEs) recommended by the Ecuadorian Standard of Construction (NEC-2015). The application is based on GMPE's for the tectonic regime that governs the city of Ambato (Cortical and Subduction). The seismic characteristics that are used by the GMPE's to generate the specific acceleration spectra are: Cutting Wave Velocity at 30 meters Depth Vs30, Magnitude of the Seismic Moment Mw, Type of Fault, Focal Depth, Distance closest to the surface projection of failure Rjb. and Depth of Fault H. The developed software minimizes the time used to determine the specific acceleration spectrum, since, as this is a repetitive process, it reduces the time used to prepare it manually. To determine the validity of the results obtained through the application developed, a comparison was made between the manual calculation and the calculation through the software developed; revealing a difference of less than 1% between the maximum acceleration values of the earth (PGA) obtained in each of the cases. In this way it was found that the application delivers accurate results in less time.
