    Evaluación de la estabilidad de sitio para la estructura de la unidad educativa Fray Sebastián Acosta perteneciente al distrito 18D03, cantón Baños

    Due the request of District 18D03 of Baños de Agua Santa, in collaboration with “Universidad Técnica de Ambato”, this experimental work was carried out with the purpose of evaluating the site stability of the structure of the Fray Sebastián Acosta Educational Unit of the city of Baños de Agua Santa, using the deterministic method. To develop this project, the tectonic regime that will act on the study area was defined, the most active and close faults that may affect were identified, in addition, the Standard Penetration Test (SPT) was performed, which was executed with 5 points in the sector and through mathematical calculations the shear wave velocity was obtained, this value allowed us to establish the soil profile based on the table provided by the NEC-2015. Similarly, the Moment Magnitude is calculated with methods provided by Wells – Coppersmith, and with the Prediction Equations of Ground Motion, acceleration spectra were generated for each selected fault. The accelerations generated by the deterministic spectrum for the structure with periods ranging from 0. 00s to 0. 10s are greater than the NEC-2015 spectrum, which means that the structure presented a risk when exposed to these telluric motions.
