This project focuses on the use of non-renewable resources such as geothermal energy, clean and sustainable energy. Provide an alternative energy that can be implemented in air conditioning systems, reducing consumption of electrical energy, natural gas, butane or some other type of fuel. In the design of the geothermal energy system, at first, it was made the theoretical foundation knowing the subsystems with their characteristics of a geothermal catchment which are: geothermal exchange circuit, heat pump and exchange circuit in the building. For the methodology, a study was presented to determine the geothermal potential knowing the thermal properties of the land in order to determine the maximum and minimum temperatures which the earth has at a depth of two meters and ten centimeters. A horizontal geothermal collector was selected knowing its advantages and disadvantages with its proper settings to be installed. The ASHRAE method was used to determine the required energy to heat a 54.24 cubic meter pool for recreational use. A 23-kilowatt geothermal heat pump was selected to meet the calculated energy and a geothermal probe was obtained with a high-density polyethylene pipe 32 millimeters in diameter and an optimal length of 681 meters. To conclude, an economic evaluation of the cost-benefit of the project was carried out to determine its profitability, knowing its total investment and the useful life of the project.
