Item Evaluación de la red vial en el área urbana de la parroquia Izamba de la nueva historia de Ambato, comprendida en la zona 27(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Civil., 2025-02) Guevara Ruiz, Edison Hernan; Cañizares Proaño, Byron GenaroThis project was designed with the objective of obtaining detailed and updated information on the condition of the roads within the urban area of the Izamba parish, which is part of the new history of the city of Ambato, corresponding to zone 27. In the information gathering phase, standardized technical sheets were used, which facilitated the calculation of the general condition of the roads, applying the pavement condition index (PCI). This index made it possible to classify and determine the level of severity of the faults found, in addition to evaluating the quality of the wearing course. To complement the analysis, soil tests and flexible pavement design tests (TPDA) were also carried out, with the objective of recommending the appropriate thicknesses for the structural pavement package on roads that have not yet been asphalted, an accurate database was prepared that will allow the preparation and implementation of an effective road maintenance plan, adapted to the specific needs of the area. To carry out this work, geo-referenced data were collected using a Global Positioning System (GPS), which made it possible to obtain exact coordinates of the locations to be evaluated. In addition, an exhaustive visual analysis was carried out to identify the main faults present in the road infrastructure. As a result of the project, an estimated budget was generated that covers the costs of road infrastructure maintenance, detailing the expenses associated with each type of deterioration found in the different pavement layers. This budget will serve as a key tool for the Municipality of Ambato, allowing it to make informed, data-driven decisions about necessary interventions on urban roads, thus optimizing the process of maintaining and improving the road network. This is expected to increase safety, public confidence, and foster the city's economic and social growth.Item Evaluación de la red vial en el área urbana de la parroquia Augusto N. Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Civil., 2025-02) Guerrero Cahueñas, Reinaldo Alejandro; Cañizares Proaño, Byron GenaroThe main purpose of this project was to gather accurate information on the current condition of roads, sidewalks, and curbs in the Augusto N. Martínez parish in the city of Ambato, with the aim of improving the mobility of drivers and pedestrians. During the first phase, the required information was collected for a database that reflected the condition of sidewalks, curbs, and the different types of faults identified in the study area, using the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) according to type. In the second phase, the index facilitated the classification of faults and their severity levels, as well as the evaluation of the quality of the surface layer. This allowed for the creation of a detailed database to design and implement a road maintenance plan tailored to the specific needs of the area. For data collection, georeferenced surveys were conducted using a Global Positioning System (GPS), achieving precise coordinates of the evaluated points. Additionally, a thorough visual analysis was carried out to identify the main deficiencies in the road infrastructure. As a result, an estimated budget was developed, detailing the costs required for the preservation of the road infrastructure, with specific expenses allocated to each type of damage detected in the different pavement layers. This budget serves as a key tool for the Municipality of Ambato to make informed decisions on priority interventions in urban roads, optimizing maintenance and improvement processes. Through these actions, the goal is to increase road safety, strengthen citizen confidence, and promote the economic and social development of the city.Item Evaluación de la red vial en el área urbana de la parroquia Constantino Fernández de la Nueva Historia de Ambato, comprendida en la zona 12(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Civil., 2025-02) Caguana Lagua, Hugo Fernando; Cañizares Proaño, Byron GenaroThis project focuses on the evaluation of the current state of the roads in the urban area of the Constantino Fernández parish in the Ambato canton, included in zone 12, identifying the worn areas and responding to the problem of deterioration of the road infrastructure. Because over time the roads have been deteriorating and an adequate maintenance plan is not developed for the benefit of the community. In this project, a visual inspection of the roads belonging to the designated area was carried out, where it was determined what type of tread layer each of the roads has, collecting data through technical sheets and, continuing with the study, a georeferenced planimetric survey was carried out with the GNSS RTK HI-TARGET V200 equipment and with a DJJ MAVIC AIR 2S DRONE considering the extension of each of the roads under analysis. Based on the ASTM D6433-03 standard and with the PCI method, we identified the types of faults that the roads present, quantifying their severity and allowing us to establish whether the road requires maintenance or reconstruction; when considering a reconstruction, the TPDA was carried out, and soil samples were collected and the necessary tests were carried out in order to determine a new pavement design using the AASHTO 93 standard method. As a result, it was determined that adequate maintenance of the roads in zone 12 of the Constantino Fernández parish must be provided, and a reference budget was developed with items obtained for each type of fault found on the different roads, information that will be delivered to the GAD Municipality of Ambato so that it can make decisions about maintenance or reconstruction of the roads based on the information received, and that it will be a contribution for the benefit of the community in conjunction with the Technical University of Ambato.Item Evaluación de las vías urbanas en el cantón Ambato del sector comprendido entre la calle Francisco Flor, calle Pérez de Anda, calle Doce de Octubre, calle Martínez, calle Floreana”(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. A georeferenced survey of the roads was carried out using the Global Positioning System (GPS), this for the evaluation of the different types of wearing layers such as flexible, rigid and articulated pavements, as well as sidewalks and curbs following the ASTM D6433 standard. 03, in this way the level of severity of the observed failures was determined, obtaining the conclusion that they exist mostly of medium and low severity. All this was recorded in a detailed database with the type of failure, photo and georeferenced location. With the data obtained previously, the PCI Pavement Condition Index method was used. This project began with the investigation of all the faults that exist in the different types of pavements that were located in the area, then a survey of information was carried out for which each of the streets under study was traveled, for this purpose a manual Global Positioning System (GPS) was used, in addition, technical data sheets were used in which the faults are detailed with their respective information such as the level of severity, Afterwards, using the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) method, the condition of the pavement was calculated and the best method for its conservation was determined, as well as the referential budget for its maintenance or repair, as appropriate. Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Civil, 2023-03) Leyton Veloz, Daniela Elizabeth; Acosta Lozada, Rodrigo IvánIn this project, the need for a road evaluation is presented in the urban roads of the Ambato canton, due to the fact that within the road infrastructure, many deteriorations have been evidenced within the surface layer, which causes discomfort to users. In the present project, the visual evaluation was first carried out in the urban area of the Ambato canton, with the purpose of being able to determine the condition of the pavement through a visual inspection in flexible, rigid and articulated pavements, in addition to taking a GPS point as georeferencing of the faults found. For this purpose, evaluation formats were prepared based on the ASTM D6433 standards, Ecuadorian Road Standard (NEVI-12), and the article in the C. H. Higuera Sandoval magazine, "Pathology of articulated pavements". The collection of information was continued based on the types of failures found, level of severity and their unit of measurement, on the other hand, the abscissa was considered according to the length of each of the roads. Regarding the roads with greater extension, the calculation of the pavement condition index was implemented. Having tabulated the information, the faults were placed on the map using the ArcGIS software, in addition to proceeding with an analysis of unit prices for maintenance or interventions required on the roads. In this evaluation, the respective studies were carried out to determine the current state of the road system in the study area. The process began with a visual evaluation and the collection of information in the field, gathering data on the different roads in field cards; with the use of GPS, the geographic location of each existing fault in the evaluated area was determined and identified according to the level of severity. Subsequently, all the information was entered into a database with which the total number of failures was obtained; in the avenues, the PCI pavement condition index study was carried out in order to identify the current state of the city's roads, and a referential budget was generated for the cost of repairing the damage found in the evaluated area. Due to the fact that the road infrastructure of the city has deteriorated over the years and is considered a fundamental axis for the economic, social and productive development of the inhabitants. In the present project the respective studies were carried out to know the current road status of the urban area of the Ambato canton, it began with the collection of information in the field with the use of information collection sheets, of the existing faults in the different roads. The geographical coordinates of each one of the failures were determined with the use of GPS equipment, to later identify the level of severity of the failure, in addition to marking the damage with an ordered numerical series. Subsequently, a database was compiled and the total number of failures was obtained, in order to know the pavement condition index, the PCI study was carried out, which allowed taking a sample of the area and identifying the condition together with the failures. In which most of the roads in the city are currently located, a referential budget was also made for the cost of repairing the damage found in the area. Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Civil, 2023-02) Cárdenas Silva, Jonathan Fabricio; Aldas Sánchez, Milton RodrigoThis project presents the need to conduct a study of the urban roads of the canton of Ambato located in the province of Tungurahua, since it is important to recognize that the road infrastructure of the city has had a progressive deterioration due to the growth of the vehicle fleet of the sector internally and externally. This is why the project provides a current study of the state of the road axis that includes AV. los Guaytambos, Club Tungurahua, las Azaleas, los Nísperos, las Magnolias, las Pomarrosas, los Mangostinos, Chamburos, las Aceitunas. The different types of failures of the flexible, rigid and articulated pavement were determined, together with technical data sheets that allowed obtaining field data for each of the road sections. In the case of the evaluation of Avenida los Guaytambos, it was carried out using the method of calculating the pavement condition index (PCI), which made it possible to evaluate the condition of the avenue through the study of specific sections. The geographic coordinates of each of the faults found on the different roads were collected using a high-precision RTK-10 GPS. At the end of the study, a database was prepared using the software containing the geographic coordinates of the 250 faults found within this area and also a referential budget for road repair. Due to the fact that the city's road infrastructure has been deteriorating over time because it is considered the main economic, social and productive development of the inhabitants. In the present project, studies were carried out to know the road condition of the urban area of the Ambato canton, in which information was collected visually with the use of information sheets, which with the help of a manual GPS detailed the existing faults along the evaluated roads, the level of severity of the condition of the wearing course was identified with the help of the Pavement Condition Index PCI, in order to provide the best option for road maintenance. A referential budget was made for the repair in the study area, and then all the information was compiled in a database, which allowed this project to be of great use. Upon completion of the study to know the road condition of the study area, will be delivered to the GAD Municipality of Ambato for the entity to use the information for the benefit of the community, as a contribution of the Technical University of Ambato.
