The present experimental work has as purpose to implement a process of conservation of the structure of the rolling layer of the Pelileo-Patate road in the section Km 4 + 170 to the Km 8 + 260 of the province of Tungurahua, with the purpose of obtaining real data of the current state of the road under study. Initially, a georeferenced survey with precision equipment (RTK-10) was carried out, detailing the width of the road, ditches, water passages and sections of the current road. To determine the amount of vehicular traffic, a manual count of each type of vehicle was carried out, for a week (12 consecutive hours from Monday to Sunday) to obtain the Annual Average Daily Traffic (ADPT). An analysis of the soil was carried out using test pits at each kilometer in order to carry out the tests of the altered soil in the laboratory, such as granulometry, compaction and the California support index test (CBR). Subsequently the evaluation of the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) was performed, where we identified the quantity and severity of faults located in the road surface. Finally, the test with the Benkelman beam was developed to determine the pavement deflectometry, tables, graphs and plans were also made that allowed a detailed analysis of the results.

The objective of this experimental work is to implement a process of conservation of the structure of the running layer of the Cevallos - Mocha road in the section km 4 + 960 to km 9 + 920 of the province of Tungurahua, in order to obtain data of the current state of the road. Initially a georeferenced survey was carried out with the help of a total station, where length, width, gutters, water passages and sections of the existing road were identified. To know the amount of vehicular traffic, a manual count of each type of vehicle was registered, during a period of one week eleven consecutive hours to obtain the Annual Average Daily Traffic (ADT). Subsequently a pit was made every kilometer to be able to extract altered soil samples and perform laboratory soil tests such as granulometry, Atterberg limits, compaction and California Support Index (CBR) test. Also the evaluation of the Condition Pavement Index (PCI) where we identify the amount and severity of the damages located in the road surface. Finally, the Benkelman Beam test was carried out where the pavement deflections were obtained. Additionally, tables, graphs and abacuses were made that allowed us to interpret the results obtained. The abscissas, sections and units evaluated are identified in the attached plans.

The present experimental work is based on the implementation of a conservation process on the Quero - Salasaca road in the section of the abscissa 0 + 000 to the abscissa 3 + 600 of the Tungurahua province, since the provincial roads do not count with a conservation model which guarantees the period of useful life for which they were designed. A georeferenced survey was carried out to identify the points that were analyzed during the collection of information and a representation close to reality was obtained. A manual counting station was identified, in which data of at least 10 hours a day for 7 days in a row of the week are registered without it being affected by special events, this information determines the value of the TPDA. The PCI method consists basically of the collection of information of the superficial faults found in the rolling layer visually, for this 14 samples were identified, which represents the total of the Quero - Salasaca road. In addition, a field test was carried out with the help of the Benkelman beam running at every 200 meters and at a distance of 0.60 m from the edge of the road inwards, at each point analyzed values were taken at each 0.25m, 0.50m, 1.00 m, 5.00m and 8.00m from the starting point to identify the total deformation that exists at each point.

This project aims to implement the process of conservation of the structure of the rolling layer of the road Manzana de Oro - Montalvo in the section k 0 + 000 to k 2 + 400 of the province of Tungurahua, in this way Develop a road maintenance plan. In order to proceed with the design of the project, a field and laboratory investigation was carried out, as well as the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Standards (AASHTO or American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials), the American Materials Testing Association (ASTMo in English). Society of Testing Materials), National Institute of Normalization (INEN), Ministry of Transport and Public Works (MTOP), Bibliographic Research, in the project several activities were carried out, such as the lifting of the existing road with a precision equipment, in each kilometer a pit was made to be able to extract altered soil samples to perform soil tests in the laboratory, the evaluation of the pavement condition index that is a visual evaluation where we identify the localized damages and in turn the severity of this , taking an average number of samples, and the test of Def pavement readometry with the Benkelman beam. After comparing the two methods mentioned above (PCI and Benkelman Beam), the reinforcement of the pavement structure will be carried out on the Via de Oro - Montalvo road in the section of the abscissa k 0 + 000 to the abscissa k 2 + 400 from the province of Tungurahua. This reinforcement has a referential budget of 445,231.65 USD.

The following detailed study aims to implement a process of conservation of the structure of the rolling layer of the Ambato - Tisaleo road in the Huachi stretch San José - Huachi La Libertad - Tisaleo of the Province of Tungurahua with the purpose of knowing In general, the state in which there is a way to generate data that may be used in the future and thus deepen research on the same subject and carry out other activities of assessment and road conservation that determine actions that allow the road to be in optimal conditions of comfort and safety for users. The starting point for the development of the investigation was the collection of field data, which consisted in carrying out a vehicular count during a week, twelve consecutive hours to obtain the Average Daily Traffic (TPDA). In addition, a record was made of the characteristics of the road such as the width, presence of sidewalks, ditches, wells, water passages and entrances to homes. Subsequently, a study was made of the damage of the tread layer with the Pavement Condition Index (PCI) and to know the state of the structure of the track, the California Bearing Ratio (CBR) and Benkelman beam tests were carried out. Additionally, in order to facilitate the management and interpretation of the results, tables, graphs and topographic survey plans were made with the georeferencing of the results obtained.
