Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Civil, 2023-08) Naula López, Johnny Alexander; Pérez Maldonado, Ruth LorenaIn the present experimental project, an investigation is carried out with the purpose of evaluating the existing seismic hazard in the Oscar Efrén Reyes Educational Unit as well as in the houses surrounding the study area. For the research process, the tectonic regime was determined according to the analysis zone, the active faults near the study point were identified and used, in addition, four soil analyses were performed by means of the Standard Penetration Test (SPT), and from the data obtained, the shear wave velocity was calculated identifying the type of soil profile with the help of the table present in NEC 15. The data obtained were used in the ground motion prediction equations (GMPEs), resulting in the acceleration spectra for the five faults selected by each author, from which a specific deterministic spectrum was determined for the zone by means of an envelope, which was compared with the response established by NEC 15. The accelerations given by the deterministic spectrum of the structures in comparison with the spectral acceleration established by NEC 15 is higher considering that they are within the same time period interval. Maestría en Ingeniería Civil con Mención en Estructuras Metálicas, 2022) Velasteguí Lara, Janne Carolina; Cañizares Ortega, Freddy FernandoThe present research work performs an analysis of the structural behavior of a six-story building in metallic structure with the use of elastomeric seismic base isolators, which allows us to perform a comparative analysis of the structural behavior through the vibration periods that directly influence the floor drifts as displacements, of an isolated and non-isolated structure. It was performed prior to the analysis of several structural probabilities, seeking that the structure complies with the minimum seismic resistant requirements suggested by the Ecuadorian Construction Standard "NEC 15", as well as the Complementary Technical Standards for Earthquake Design, "NTC-DS-2017", the Chilean Standard "NCH-2745", the American Institute of Steel Constructions "AISC 341- 16" code and the American Society of Civil Engineers "ASCE 7-16, ASCE 41-13, which, by their design characteristics, provide seismic resistant safety. The mathematical model for the calculation was made based on the characteristics of the architectural and structural drawings, making a stabilized structure obtaining floor drifts and displacements in accordance with the requirements of the NEC-15 recommendations, consequently, the seismic isolation was made through the pre-dimensioning and design of the elastomeric base isolators with lead core type LRB. Subsequently, the scaled accelerograms were entered into the structural model of the software, in order to establish a nonlinear dynamic time-history analysis and to obtain a real analysis of the structure, a nonlinear static analysis was performed. With the data entered into the software, results were obtained for a building without isolation, including: vibration periods, displacements, floor drifts, basal shear, accelerations, overvoltage of the structure and energy balances; likewise, the basic seismic isolation was implemented in which the expected results were obtained, in order to perform a comparative analysis of a structure with and without isolation. Carrera de Ingeniería Civil, 2019) Guamani Aguayo, Holger Fabricio; Ureña Aguirre, Maritza ElizabethThe present experimental work has been made with the purpose to evaluate the seismic danger existing at the area “La Universal” from Ambato city, through the method deterministic seismic danger. For the develop of the investigation the tectonic regime was define based on the area in analysis, was selected faults nearest and active to the study area, also was made the Standard Penetration Test (SPT), this test was done on five points of the area with the purpose to get kind of existing soil and through this information it was calculated the cutting wave speed (Vs30) to determinate the soil profile with the table provides by NEC-2015. Similarly, through the method of Wells- Coppersmith was calculate the Magnitude of the Moment Weight (Mw) for all failure selected, and through prediction equations of soil movement, we proceeded to calculate acceleration spectra for each fault, using an envelope, from that was determined a specific spectrum for the area, the same that is compared with NEC-2015. The determine spectrum generates greater accelerations with regard stablished spectrum in the NEC-2015 in a period 0.15 to 0.4 seconds, that established that structures will be affected, It determines that the spectrum influences to the structures that are in the area, through the investigation, was determined that structures under five floors, have more seismic threat. Maestría en Estructuras Sismo Resistentes, 2016) Vasco López, Patricio MarceloThe lessons left by the earthquakes and technology in the area of earthquake resistant engineering, placed demonstrate the seismic vulnerability of many buildings, even if they have been designed in compliance with current standards, it can be concluded that relatively little is known in depth of successful design and earthquake-resistant construction, this is ratified several collapsed buildings. For this reason this research has as main objective to study the Resistance Earthquake Concrete and Steel buildings by the earthquake resistant design and analysis of structural behavior in the non linear range of two buildings in Steel Structure and one in Concrete Structure. The problem, which is linked to the reality of Ecuador, arises, the applicability of the Ecuadorian Standard Construction to high seismic hazard zones. The information underlying the subject based on previous research and has served as a reference for this and other similar work, in addition to the legal basis and definitions to clarify the concepts used in the proposed research is included. References to the procedures to be followed to initiate research, such as focus, the basic mode, the level and type of research is used. The investigation concepts of some previous studies and the results of analyzes in addition to behavioral comparisons earthquake resistant buildings Steel and Concrete made are presented include described. The conclusions of the results of the investigation are set out.
