    Evaluación de las vías urbanas en el cantón Ambato del sector comprendido entre las calles Edmundo Martínez, vía a Martínez, La Heroína, Av. Rodrigo Pachano

    With the lack of access to updated information about the condition of the roads in different areas of the city of Ambato, this project uses visual assessment and the Pavement Condition Index PCI and the respective regulations to identify and analyze the condition of the roads in the Atocha area in the city of Ambato and GPS was used to obtain coordinates of each failure point and with this a detailed database of the road network was created. An evaluation of the roads, curbs and sidewalks in the area was carried out, and the pathologies present were identified, these included deformations, detachments and other forms of damage to the road surface, coordinates were determined using GPS and a geo-referenced database of the road network was created using appropriate software that includes data on the location and condition of each road and details on needed repairs or maintenance, and geographic information system technology was used to map the roads and enter the information into the macro-project database. At the end of the study, this database will be delivered to the GAD Municipal de Ambato so that they can access updated information on road conditions and thus determine which roads are in need of maintenance.

    Diseño geométrico de la vía Pinllopata – El Corazón en el tramo 4 + 000 hasta 7 + 900 perteneciente al cantón Pangua de la provincia de Cotopaxi

    The Project was developed in the Province of Cotopaxi on the Pangua Canton, specifically between the towns of Pinllopata and El Corazon, where the towns submerged in the need for an access road to their towns with the sole purpose of improving economic aspects, social, tourist and cultural. All the studies carried out in this project were carried out with the norm of the Ministry of Transport and Public Works MTOP-2003; where a topographic survey was carried out, using a georeferencing equipment and a Phantom 4 drone, and the data was processed by the Pix 4D software. Within the vehicular study, it was to carried out using the manual counting method, where the locality of the grant was taken as a base point, for which we proceeded by classifying the vehicles that circulate on that road, resulting in a projection of traffic for a design period of 20 years. The horizontal, vertical and transversal geometric design of the development with AutoCAD Civil 3D software, as well as determining the cut and fill volumes. The study of soils took place in the laboratories of the technical University of Ambato, taking samples from the Pinllopata – El Corazon road, using pits every 500 meters, and under the regulations of AASHTO – 93. As well as for the design of the pavement where, through the mechanical characteristics of the soil, we were able to determine the thickness of the base, sub-base and flexible pavement.

    Mejoramiento de la vía Cotundo-Comunidad 5 de Octubre de la parroquia Cotundo, cantón Archidona, provincia de Napo, con la implementación de sistemas alternativos de drenaje

    The present technical research project has a proposal to carry out the road study, proposing an improvement to existing geometry by adding drainage systems. From the data obtained during the topographic survey, the improvement of the geometric design was made, establishing suitable parameters such as design speed, radius of curvatures, slopes, peraltes, etc. By means of the study of soils it was possible to verify that the soil is of silty clay type with high moisture content and a CBR of 3.95%, reason why it was proceeded to make the improvement of the subgrade with granular material of the mine May 20 located 2 km from the site of road implantation, the relevant tests were carried out as a result of a CBR value of 9%, which will provide greater soil resistance and logically a reduction in the thickness of the upper layers. As an alternative drainage system, drainage ditches, a drainage mantle with a fishbone, and the placement of geotextiles were proposed in order to provide greater stability and durability of the road construction, ensuring that the population can make use of it without any inconvenience.

    The content of the present project shows the following guidelines: Information about the project site such as: location, economy, traffic studies, soil study, climate, and topographic relief. The theoretical basis was also made taking into account the Standards of Geometric Design of the MTOP 2003, MOP-001-F 2002, design of the pavement structure through the AASHTO 93 program. In addition, the Topographic study was executed, Calculation and horizontal and vertical geometric design, Unit Prices, Environmental Measures, Budget, Work Schedule and Maintenance and Operation Manual were executed, based on the MTOP standards. Finally the conclusions and recommendations were made according to the results obtained in the project.

    The present work has the purpose of the road study of the sectors La Floresta and San Juan de los Diablos, to put into practice all the knowledge acquired in the career of Civil Engineering. It begins by recognizing the terrain with inspections accompanied by the inhabitants of the communities involved and then gathering all the information to draw three routes as alternatives for the preliminary design of the road. With the Bruce Method and the zero line, the best route is selected, with the greatest benefit in the technical, environmental and economic fields. With these elements proceed with the horizontal and vertical design of the project, following the guidelines of the Standards of Geometric Design of Roads of the MOP 2003. The traffic study is carried out to verify the category or class of road. The next activity is the respective soil studies, known as the California Bearing Ratio (CBR) design that is used in the design of the flexible pavement structure. Drainage works and the referential budget are designed.

    This project aims the geometric study of the dirt road towards the pre-asociacion may 12 (triumph), canton Arajuno, province of Pastaza, reason for developing economic, agricultural, livestock and tourism partner of the inhabitants, facilitating mobility of people and products that are grown in the area. To proceed with the design of the project took into account all standards and specifications in force, necessary, as the standard of the Ministry of transport and public works (MOP 2003), NEVI'IM 2012, and international as the 93 AASHTO (American Association of State Highway and Transportation Official.), a specialized software (CivilCad) Additionally hired to perform the geometric design of the route. The project was carried out various activities as: topographical, horizontal and vertical design, annual (TPDA) daily average traffic, drainage design and study of soils, tests of compaction, CBR, structure design of pavement and referential budget among others. The project has the support of the Government autonomous decentralized Provincial of Pastaza, Department of road studies and the Technical University of Ambato.

    Trazado y diseño geométrico de la prolongación de la vía Santa Inés entre el sector San Juan de los Diablos entre el Río Resbalo y el Río Tigre, parroquia Río Negro, cantón Baños, provincia de Tungurahua

    This technical project is based on a direct observation of the current conditions of the sector through an exploration and recognition of the terrain. A topographic study was carried out to determine the conditions of the terrain, such as location, total length, purpose, alignment, slopes, hydrological basins, the important points through which it should cross the road. The vehicle counting was carried out in two stations to determine the Annual Average Daily Traffic, and the traffic projected to 10 and 20 years, necessary to determine the type of route to which the project belongs. In order to know the characteristics of the soil that exists in the area, studies were carried out in the laboratory where the moisture content, limits of consistency, compaction and CBR were determined, necessary for the design stage. In the design stage, the data and information mentioned above were used to determine the dimensions of the lateral ditches and culverts, the thickness of the layers that make up the pavement structure, as well as the horizontal, vertical and transverse design. This project counts on the unit price analysis to determine the reference budget and the chronogram of work with its respective investment curve, determining the expectations for which this project was carried out.

    The purpose of this project is to include the communities of La Independencia and Jaime Roldós Aguilera, influencing the development and quality of life of these places, the proposed way will allow the development of agriculture and livestock, giving a decent road that allows the adequate Transport of products, as well as reactivate the mine that is in the site, which for the future will allow to economize in the transport of materials. Therefore, relevant studies, such as the annual average daily traffic (TPDA), are previously performed; Soil tests consisting of moisture content, grain size, compaction and CBR. Subsequently the horizontal, vertical and transversal design of the track is carried out, assisted by programs such as AASHTO 93 and the Civil CAD, which will provide data necessary for the project, as well as complementary works such as culverts, gutters and slopes. It is essential to indicate that the present work will be based primarily on the MOP 2003 standard, from which the basics are used, and AASHTO 93 for the study of the pavement layer, as well as in some regulations mentioned in the bibliography of the present. Finished with work volumes, project budget, unit prices, technical specifications and valued work schedule.

    Diseño de la vía provincial en el tramo La Pillareña – El Carmen del cantón Pastaza en la provincia de Pastaza, con el mejoramiento de la subrasante con metodología del sector

    In the following technical project of graduation is based on the Design of the provincial road in the section Pillareña - El Carmen del Cantón Pastaza in the Province of Pastaza. Traffic studies (TPDA) and topographic survey were carried out, so it was determined as a Type IV pathway in the neighborhood, as stipulated in the MTOP rules. It was also done pigeons in each kilometer of the project track, to make the tests as: Moisture Content, Grain Size, Proctor, Sponge and CBR. These tests did not give as results that an improvement of the subgrade is needed and thus to begin the calculation of the pavement structure. To determine the structure of flexible pavement was performed by the method of AASHTO 93 that gives as parameters the structural and functional performance for the elaboration of the calculations. In this technical work of graduation the PLUS was the improvement of the subgrade with site methodology, by means of soil tests and a comparison of costs was determined the improvement with stone material, in order to determine the thicknesses to be constructed of the structure of flexible pavement. Horizontal and vertical signaling was determined for the welfare of drivers. As well as the elaboration of the reference budget with its respective chronogram valued of work that allows of a determine the time of execution of the road work.
