    This technical paper was focus on the design and construction of a high shear immersion homogenizer, which was carried out due to the importance of the implementation of creating a tool like this. This facilitates the mixing, emulsion and homogenization of substances all related to the creation of nanofluids. In fact, the homogenizer was created for The Technical University of Ambato with particular reference to the Mechanical Engineering career. Furthermore, construction and functional tests were carried out. While for the design several technical characteristics were taken like (materials, dimensions, mechanisms, use. Etc.). This device is made up by a three-phase motor, a pulley mechanism, a tollined structure, a rotating shaft, a turbine, a work head, a lifting mechanism with 3D printing jaws and an electronic system that helps us to operate it. On the other hand, construction took into account materials available in the market, and of course verifying each of the construction processes. Lastly, functional and experimental tests were performed in order to confirm operation process and homogenization of substances with a main goal which is to create a nanofluid at different times. To ensure effective operation and durability of the device, an operating manual was prepared. It indicates the way to proceed while it is being use, extending the useful life of the device

    For the execution of the project the shear cutting process was investigated by means of an unconventional system which allows longitudinal cuts of dimensions larger than those established for a standard metal plate, from which different design alternatives were determined. Of these, the circular blade cutting system was selected as the main mechanism, which consists of a combined transmission of chains, catars, pulleys and belts, as well as a power reducer and a three-phase electric engine. The parameters specific to parts and components were designed taking into account the actual conditions on which the machine will work in addition to safety factors recommended by entities such as ASTM-HANDBOOK. Once the design and construction were carried out, the functional tests were carried out where it was verified that with the implementation of the machine clean cuts can be made with minimum tolerances, reducing the 40% of time during the cutting process in relation to the conventional process used in the company.
