Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Civil, 2024-08) Viteri Izurieta, Vinicio Sebastián; Guevara Robalino, Jorge JavierThe condition and serviceability of a road is one of the fundamental aspects, emphasizing that the current condition is considered regular, requiring the execution of road maintenance. The analyzed road connects an area that contributes mainly to the agricultural, livestock and productive development of the Santiago de Píllaro canton. Initially, the soil typology was analyzed by extracting soil pits every kilometer, the natural moisture content of the soil, granulometry, Atterberg limits, modified Proctor method B and CBR; the current TPDA was analyzed using the methodology of the thirtieth hour, the ESAL deduction that was projected for the design year, using the PCI based on ASTM D4695 and the pavement condition was identified from a total of 14 sample units, identifying that the road had a resultant of 51.21 equivalent to a regular road condition. The resulting deflectometry resulted in the first two kilometers requiring routine maintenance, while the remaining 2.5 kilometers required road rehabilitation based on redesigning the pavement structure thickness. As a result, the maintenance plan included crack sealing and patching in the initial 2.0 kilometers and in the remaining 2.5 kilometers, a redesign of the layers that make up the pavement structures was proposed, obtaining a total reference budget of $ 274 893,095, to improve and optimize the current condition of the road.Item Implementación del proceso de conservación de la estructura de la capa de rodadura de la vía Patate – Píllaro en el tramo de la abscisa 11+400 hasta 15+320 de la provincia de Tungurahua(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Civil, 2020) Ortiz Armendariz, Gina Pamela; López Arboleda, Alex GustavoIn the present experimental work, a plan for the conservation of the structure of the tread layer of the Patate - Píllaro road is proposed in its 3,920 m of study. A georeferenced survey of the road section under study was carried out, in which an abscissa was considered every 20 m, data were recorded with the GPS satellite receiver, obtaining an amount of 590 points with their respective coordinates, data that allowed the digital model to be made of the track. The vehicular traffic that circulates on the road under study was analyzed, analysis that allowed classifying the road in class II and collector because it receives the traffic of the neighborhood roads. Through the application of the PCI methodology, a section with 17 sampling units was evaluated, whose average value of PCI was 77.82, which corresponds to a very good road classification, which implies maintenance on the road surface. The measurement of the deflections was carried out with the Benkelman beam, for which 20 stations were determined every 200 m along the track, resulting in a type I deflection, which means a good structural behavior of the pavement and the subgrade. 4 openwork calicates were made to perform the tests and determine the type of soil. Edge, gravel and sand type soil has a CBR greater than 30 percent which is used as a subbase, while fine sand and silty soil materials are used as a subgrade. Carrera de Ingeniería Civil, 2019) Saquinga Pullupaxi, Betty Liliana; Aldás Sánchez, Milton RodrigoThe objective of this experimental work is to implement a process of conservation of the structure of the running layer of the Cevallos - Mocha road in the section km 4 + 960 to km 9 + 920 of the province of Tungurahua, in order to obtain data of the current state of the road. Initially a georeferenced survey was carried out with the help of a total station, where length, width, gutters, water passages and sections of the existing road were identified. To know the amount of vehicular traffic, a manual count of each type of vehicle was registered, during a period of one week eleven consecutive hours to obtain the Annual Average Daily Traffic (ADT). Subsequently a pit was made every kilometer to be able to extract altered soil samples and perform laboratory soil tests such as granulometry, Atterberg limits, compaction and California Support Index (CBR) test. Also the evaluation of the Condition Pavement Index (PCI) where we identify the amount and severity of the damages located in the road surface. Finally, the Benkelman Beam test was carried out where the pavement deflections were obtained. Additionally, tables, graphs and abacuses were made that allowed us to interpret the results obtained. The abscissas, sections and units evaluated are identified in the attached plans.
