Since, one of the main problems is the lack of tools that cover Computerized Numerical Control (CNC) machining programs’ demand; which integrate advanced cutting strategies in their latest versions. This type of technology has evolved over time. In addition, market trends have required program developers to integrate functions that were not possible in the past. However, the best cutting strategies are not enough if resistant tools that have a durable design are not integrated. According to the presented study and through an experimental analysis, an adequate design of a rhomboidal counter-output tool is provided. Likewise, cutting parameters that guarantee a long life are established. The relevant factors in the experimental process are advanced speed and lateral pass depth. Since, machining advanced strategies appearance have been determined empirically. Consequently, material and time losses are generated during molds development. Trend continuous change of footwear models demands a flexible mold manufacturing process and implementation of adaptable machining tools. The proposal of this research includes a manual of sharpening procedure, according to proposed and validated design tool. Sharpening process is carried out by a tool development team at different clamping angles. In addition, the appropriate tool material was determined, which has flexibility to increase lateral pass value percentage.Item Diseño y construcción de una troqueladora para elaborar contrafuertes para calzado en el taller de calzado Creaciones Majo(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Mecánica, 2019) Maliza Zamora, Wilmer Orlando; Carrillo Rosero, Carlos MauricioThe present technical project is focused on the design and construction of a die cutter, which consists of a cutting mechanism that is constituted by a punch and die, electro-pneumatic system consisting of a maintenance unit, solenoid valve, pneumatic cylinder and a support structure that is the component that gives stability to the machine; in the course of fulfilling the objectives, the appropriate material for the manufacture of the cutting mechanism was selected, with the help of calculations and data obtained through tests and investigations, it was possible to choose a piston suitable for shaping the electro-pneumatic system. The support structure was built in structural steel ASTM A500 and this was designed to withstand external forces that not only involve the weight of the die cutter; During the tests of operation when using the punching machine it was possible to confirm that the reduction of time is considerable compared to the traditional process carried out by hand.Item Diseño y fabricación de una matriz de embutido y corte para producir un casquillo bipolar de resistencias eléctricas industriales en la empresa Redanse S.A.(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Mecánica, 2018) Ortiz Escobar, Mario Gabriel; Carrillo Rosero, Carlos MauricioThe present technical project focuses on the design, construction and operation tests of two matrices, one for embossing and another for cutting-drilling, with the purpose of generating bipolar bushes. First the selection of the material was made according to the functionality and mechanical properties of the same to act directly with the development or template of a metal sheet, being the AISI SAE D3 steel the most suitable for the punches and matrix plates, also for the elements The ASTM A36 steel and the AISI SAE 4340 for bushings and columns were chosen. Once the material was selected, the constituent elements of the matrices were designed. Through the theoretical and analytical part, punches and plates were designed for drawing, cutting and drilling, considering parameters such as radius, clearance, number of operations, lubrication, speed of work and geometric shape, that guarantee a deep drawing avoiding the breaking of the strap and likewise a cutout of the surplus and perforation of two holes. Finally, it was mechanized by means of the wire EDM process and tests were carried out in a hydraulic press and a punch press, in order to obtain the bipolar bushing fulfilling the requirements of Redanse S.A.Item Diseño y construcción de máquina rotativa de corte longitudinal de planchas de acero galvanizado de 1 mm de espesor en la empresa Carrocerías “IBIMCO S.A.”(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Carrera de Ingeniería Mecánica, 2017) Iza Carrillo, Edgar Vinicio; Guamanquispe Toasa, Jorge PatricioFor the execution of the project the shear cutting process was investigated by means of an unconventional system which allows longitudinal cuts of dimensions larger than those established for a standard metal plate, from which different design alternatives were determined. Of these, the circular blade cutting system was selected as the main mechanism, which consists of a combined transmission of chains, catars, pulleys and belts, as well as a power reducer and a three-phase electric engine. The parameters specific to parts and components were designed taking into account the actual conditions on which the machine will work in addition to safety factors recommended by entities such as ASTM-HANDBOOK. Once the design and construction were carried out, the functional tests were carried out where it was verified that with the implementation of the machine clean cuts can be made with minimum tolerances, reducing the 40% of time during the cutting process in relation to the conventional process used in the company.
