Item Evaluación de la estabilidad de sitio para la estructura de la unidad educativa Fray Sebastián Acosta perteneciente al distrito 18D03, cantón Baños(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Civil, 2023-08) Morocho Cadena, Roosevelt Alexander; Pérez Maldonado, Ruth LorenaDue the request of District 18D03 of Baños de Agua Santa, in collaboration with “Universidad Técnica de Ambato”, this experimental work was carried out with the purpose of evaluating the site stability of the structure of the Fray Sebastián Acosta Educational Unit of the city of Baños de Agua Santa, using the deterministic method. To develop this project, the tectonic regime that will act on the study area was defined, the most active and close faults that may affect were identified, in addition, the Standard Penetration Test (SPT) was performed, which was executed with 5 points in the sector and through mathematical calculations the shear wave velocity was obtained, this value allowed us to establish the soil profile based on the table provided by the NEC-2015. Similarly, the Moment Magnitude is calculated with methods provided by Wells – Coppersmith, and with the Prediction Equations of Ground Motion, acceleration spectra were generated for each selected fault. The accelerations generated by the deterministic spectrum for the structure with periods ranging from 0. 00s to 0. 10s are greater than the NEC-2015 spectrum, which means that the structure presented a risk when exposed to these telluric motions.Item Análisis de las propiedades físico-mecánicas y CBR de suelos cohesivos de subrasante mezclados con partículas de tereftalato de polietileno (PET)(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Civil, 2021-09) Ocampo Guerrero, Nancy Patricia; Castro Solorzano, Fidel AlbertoThe purpose of this experimental work is to analyze the physical-mechanical and CBR properties of natural cohesive soils and cohesive soils combined with polyethylene terephthalate (PET) particles, to be used in the formation of subgrade. For the research, 4 samples of natural soil were taken from 3 different points within the Sevilla don Bosco parish in Morona Canton, province of Morona Santiago with a total of 12 samples of cohesive soil, for which the topsoil was removed and approximately 40 kilograms of the natural sample were collected; polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles were also collected and crushed at the Proplasticmax S.A. recycling company. Field and laboratory tests were carried out with natural soil samples and soil samples combined with polyethylene terephthalate (PET) particles, determining: soil type, characteristics, physical-mechanical properties, and CBR. An increase in CBR from 8.4 percent to 11.4 percent was observed. The results obtained in the CBR test, together with the results of the vehicular analysis, were used in the design of the structure of flexible pavement and these thicknesses were compared, obtaining a reduction of 5 centimeters in the total thickness of the road structure.Item Las características del suelo de subrasante de los caminos vecinales de la comunidad de Echaleche Pilahuín y su incidencia en el comportamiento de la capa de rodadura(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Maestría en Vías Terrestres, 2011) Naranjo Perugachi, Víctor Trajano; Fabara Villacreces, Víctor HugoUn suelo o capa de firme debe ser capaz de soportar los esfuerzos impuestos por las cargas del tránsito y resistir la acción de los agentes atmosféricos, conservando materialmente uniforme su volumen, cuando no presta estas solicitudes es necesario estabilizarle para reducir los índices de plasticidad y aumentar la capacidad portante del suelo. Existen varias maneras de hacerlo, se puede hacer un reemplazo de suelo con otro de mejores prestaciones o requerimientos, hacer mezclas con porcentajes de cal, cemento, asfaltos, geo textiles, compactación mecánica u otros productos químicos que se han desarrollado para el efecto. Mediante ensayos de laboratorio, se analizan varias alternativas que se podrían utilizar para estabilizar las subrasantes de suelo arena arcillosa; añadiendo al suelo natural de la subrasante porcentajes de toba volcánica, arena, cemento y cal Se verifica entonces la plasticidad y la capacidad portante de suelo que se ha mejorado.
