The study was developed with a mixed approach methodology, non-experimental design, documentary and descriptive scope, using tourist attraction data sheets from the Ministry of Tourism, where potential tourist attractions were captured and through surveys of the Ambato Municipal Citizen Security Council, applied to 381 visitors to know the perception of citizen security. With the results obtained, it was concluded that the Ambato Canton is classified as unsafe (41.5%), especially in public spaces such as parks, however, it is considered that tourist activity remains the same as in previous years (49.1%), due to the fact that the highest frequency of tourist demand comes from the Litoral region, which prefers to carry out tourism in inter-Andean towns, to learn about the culture and its scenic beauty. In this sense, a web page of the attractions and tourist resources of Ambato was developed to disseminate the activities that can be carried out and the level of security of the attractions. to learn about the culture and its scenic beauty. dc.description.abstractLa investigación tuvo como objetivo analizar la actividad turística y la percepción de seguridad ciudadana del visitante en el Cantón Ambato, para conocer el potencial turístico y las percepciones/experiencias en cuanto a seguridad ciudadana de los visitantes de la urbe, al ser el cantón de la provincia con mayor incidencia de delitos.
