dc.descriptionEl presente estudio tuvo como objetivo determinar la relación del funcionamiento familiar con la autoestima de los adolescentes, en la Universidad Técnica de Cotopaxi localizada en la ciudad de Latacunga provincia de Cotopaxi, con una muestra de 74 estudiantes de ambos sexos, con edades entre 17 y 18 años, los mismos que fueron evaluados mediante la Prueba de percepción del funcionamiento familiar FF-SIL y la Escala de Autoestima de Cooperesmith. Posterior a la aplicación de la prueba de chi cuadrado los resultados mostraron que tanto el funcionamiento familiar y la autoestima se encuentran relacionadas, siendo la familia disfuncional la que presenta mayor número de estudiantes con autoestima baja. Por lo que es importante implementar talleres de psicoeducación y desarrollo de una inadecuada autoestima con el fin de promover la salud mental de los adolescentes.es_ES
dc.description.abstractThe objective of this study was to determine the relationship between family functioning and adolescents' self-esteem at the Cotopaxi Technical University located in the city of Latacunga, Cotopaxi province, with a sample of 74 students of both sexes, ages 17 and over. 19 years, the same ones that were evaluated through the Family Function Perception Test FF-SIL and the Cooperesmith Self-Esteem Scale. After the application of the chi-square test, the results showed that both family functioning and self-esteem are related, with the dysfunctional family having the highest number of students with low self-esteem. Therefore, it is important to implement psychoeducation workshops and development of inadequate self-esteem in order to promote the mental health of adolescentses_ES
