| dc.description | The agricultural sector of Ecuador presents great challenges to overcome, especially in those agricultural areas located in the Province of Tungurahua (Sierra region) characterized by hosting agricultural communities that produce a significant amount of food that is marketed nationally. For this reason, the main objective was to establish the changes in the standard of living in the last 12 months of those associated with agricultural unions in the cantons of Quero, Mocha, Cevallos and Tisaleo, belonging to the province of Tungurahua, Ecuador. The four cantons belong to District 18D06, which corresponds to the Commonwealth of the South Western Front. In the four cantons, the total number of agricultural unions is 59, covering a total of 1086 members, who actually carry out agricultural activities as their main source of family income. For the development of the study, a population sample had to be obtained. Thus, through simple random sampling, it was estimated that a total of 284 participating associates were required. However, to determine the number of participants for each canton, the stratified sampling formula was applied. The perception that Tungurahuan farmers have is that their standard of living was considerably affected by factors such as the fall in prices of their products, lack of better income for the head of the household; crop loss, and macroeconomic events linked to the COVID-19 pandemic, international conflicts, and paralysis of the country. | es_ES |
| dc.description.abstract | El sector agrícola del Ecuador presenta grandes desafíos por superar, especialmente en aquellas zonas agrícolas localizadas en la Provincia de Tungurahua (región Sierra) caracterizadas por albergar comunidades agrícolas que producen una significativa cantidad de alimentos que se comercializan a nivel nacional. Razón por la cual se planteó como objetivo principal establecer los cambios en el nivel de vida en los últimos 12 meses de los asociados a gremios agrícolas en los cantones de Quero, Mocha, Cevallos y Tisaleo, pertenecientes a la provincia de Tungurahua, Ecuador. Los cuatro cantones pertenecen al Distrito 18D06, que corresponde a la Mancomunidad del Frente Sur Occidental. En los cuatro cantones, el número total de gremios agrícolas es de 59, que abarcan un total de 1086 socios, quienes efectivamente realizan actividades agrícolas como su principal fuente de ingreso familiar, para el desarrollo del estudio se debió obtener una muestra poblacional. Así, a través de un muestreo aleatorio simple se estimó que se requería un total de 284 asociados participantes. Sin embargo, para determinar el número de participantes por cada cantón, se aplicó la fórmula del muestreo estratificado. La percepción que poseen los agricultores tungurahuenses es que su nivel de vida fue afectado considerablemente por factores como la caída de precios en sus productos, falta de mejores ingresos del jefe del hogar; pérdida de cosechas, y eventos macroeconómicos vinculados a la pandemia COVID-19, conflictos internacionales, y paralización del país. | es_ES |
