dc.descriptionEl objetivo de este proyecto fue determinar la influencia que provoca el estrés inducido por fármacos y la temperatura escrotal sobre la calidad seminal en ovinos. El presente estudio fue realizado en la finca “San Pedro”, cantón San Miguel, provincia Bolívar. Para la experimentación se ejecutó tres tratamientos: T1 tratamiento con parche térmico escrotal, T2 con dexametasona intramuscular y T3 tratamiento control. Se emplearon 9 borregos machos mestizos y dos hembras que funcionaron como maniquí para la monta, se realizó dos recolecciones seminales por semana y se obtuvieron diferentes análisis de pools compuestos por tres eyaculados de diferente ovino, por cada tratamiento, con un diseño Completo al Azar. Los resultados de las medias de cada tratamiento, de las diferentes variables fueron valorados a través de pruebas de Kruskal Wallis y de significancia mediante la prueba de Tukey al 5% en el software Infostat, considerando diferencias estadísticamente significativas cuando P < 0,05. Las variables analizadas fueron tanto macroscópicas y microscópicas, como: volumen, color, motilidad masal, motilidad individual, concentración y morfología, en semen fresco. Concluyendo que la influencia del estrés inducido y la temperatura escrotal incide negativamente sobre la calidad seminal en ovinos.es_ES
dc.description.abstractThe objective of this project was to determine the influence of drug-induced stress and scrotal temperature on semen quality in sheep. This study was conducted at the “San Pedro” farm, San Miguel canton, Bolívar province. Three treatments were used for the experiment: T1 treatment with scrotal heat patch, T2 with intramuscular dexamethasone and T3 control treatment. Nine crossbred male sheep and two females were used as dummies for mating. Two semen collections were carried out per week and different analyses were obtained from pools composed of three ejaculates from different sheep, for each treatment, with a Complete Random Design. The results of the means of each treatment, of the different variables were evaluated through Kruskal Wallis tests and significance through the Tukey test at 5% in the Infostat software, considering statistically significant differences when P < 0.05. The variables analyzed were both macroscopic and microscopic, such as: volume, color, mass motility, individual motility, concentration and morphology, in fresh semen. Concluding that the influence of induced stress and scrotal temperature negatively affects semen quality in sheep.es_ES
