dc.descriptionEl riesgo de suicidio es la probabilidad de llevar a cabo un acto suicida, una problemática seria que afecta la salud mental y el bienestar de los individuos. El objetivo se centra en analizar la relación entre los sentimientos depresivos y el riesgo de suicidio en estudiantes de enfermería. El estudio utilizó un enfoque cuantitativo, con un diseño no experimental y transversal, aplicando el Test-Inventario de Depresión de Beck (BDI) y la Escala de Ideación Suicida (SSI) a estudiantes de 7mo semestre. La recopilación de datos se llevó a cabo en la Universidad Técnica de Ambato, utilizando un muestreo no probabilístico por conveniencia. Las tablas de contingencia revelan asociaciones entre la ideación suicida y variables clave como la actitud hacia la vida, los pensamientos suicidas, el proyecto de intento y la realización de intento. Sin embargo, al analizar la correlación entre la puntuación en el Inventario de Depresión de Beck (BDI) y la Escala de Ideación Suicida (SSI), se encontró una correlación negativa débil y no significativa entre ambas variables. Esto sugiere que, en esta muestra específica, no hay una relación clara entre la depresión medida por el BDI y la ideación suicida medida por la SSI. Es decir que no hay una relación entre los sentimientos depresivos y el riesgo de suicidio en estudiantes de enfermería.es_ES
dc.description.abstractAbstract The risk of suicide is the likelihood of carrying out a suicidal act, a serious issue that affects the mental health and well-being of individuals. To analyze the relationship between depressive feelings and the risk of suicide in nursing students. Method: The study used a quantitative approach, with a non-experimental and cross-sectional design, applying the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) and the Suicidal Ideation Scale (SSI) to seventh-seme ster students. Data collection was carried out at the Technical University of Ambato, using non-probabilistic convenience sampling.Contingency tables reveal associations between suicidal ideation and key variables such as attitude towards life, suicidal thoughts, attem pt planning, and attempt execution. However, when analyzing the correlation between the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) score and the Suicidal Ideation Scale (SSI), a weak and non - significant negative correlation was found between the two variables. This suggests that, in this specific sample, there is no clear relationship between depression measured by the BDI and suicidal ideation measured by the SSI. In other words, there is no relationship between depressive feelings and the risk of suicide in nursing students.es_ES
