dc.descriptionThe main objective of this work entitled “Strategies for the optimization of the supply chain in the textile sector” is to propose innovative strategies to improve the efficiency and competitiveness of the textile sector in the province of Tungurahua, Ecuador. This research responds to the need to address critical challenges such as demand volatility, inefficient inventory management, and technological limitations that negatively affect the sector's profitability and sustainability factors. This study uses a mixed approach that combines statistical analysis with interviews and surveys, which were conducted with 21 local textile companies. Among the main results obtained, problems were identified that were related to the lack of adoption of advanced technologies and lean manufacturing, which have the potential to optimize processes, reduce operating costs and improve the sustainability of the companies. The proposal includes a roadmap detailing the implementation of sustainable technologies and practices, including the training of personnel and the selection of responsible suppliers. In addition to the economic benefits, this research highlights the importance of adopting sustainable practices to reduce the environmental impact of the textile industry. The strategies contribute not only to the reduction of waste and carbon emissions, but also to the improvement of consumers perception of the corporate social responsibility that the textile sector should have. Finally, this work provides practical tools to strengthen the capacity of local companies to compete in global markets, while ensuring their long-term sustainability. This project not only seeks to be a significant contribution to the existing literature on this topic, but also a valuable resource for the textile industry in the province of Tungurahua, Ecuador.
dc.description.abstractEste trabajo titulado “Estrategias para la optimización de la cadena de suministro en el sector textil” tiene por objetivo principal el proponer estrategias innovadoras para mejorar la eficiencia y competitividad del sector textil en la provincia de Tungurahua Ecuador. Esta investigación responde a la necesidad de abordar desafíos críticos como es el caso de la volatilidad de la demanda, la ineficiencia que existe en la gestión de inventarios y las limitaciones tecnológicas que afectan negativamente los factores de rentabilidad y sostenibilidad del sector. En este estudio se emplea un enfoque mixto que combina análisis estadísticos con entrevistas y encuestas, las cuales se realizaron a 21 empresas textiles locales. Entre los principales resultados obtenidos se identificaron problemas que fueron relacionados con la falta de adopción de tecnologías avanzadas y manufactura esbelta, los cuales tienen el potencial de optimizar procesos, reducir costos operativos y mejorar la sostenibilidad de las empresas. En la propuesta existe una hoja de ruta que detalla la implementación de las tecnologías y las prácticas sostenibles incluyendo la capacitación del personal las y la selección de proveedores responsables. Además de los beneficios económicos esta investigación resalta la importancia de adoptar prácticas sostenibles que permitan reducir el impacto ambiental de la industria textil. Las estrategias contribuyen no sólo a la reducción de residuos y emisiones de carbono, sino que también a la mejora de la percepción de los consumidores sobre la responsabilidad social corporativa que debe tener el sector textil. Por último, este trabajo aporta herramientas prácticas para fortalecer la capacidad de las empresas locales al competir en mercados globales, asegurando el mismo tiempo su sostenibilidad a largo plazo. este proyecto no sólo busca ser un aporte significativo para la literatura existente sobre esta temática sino también un recurso valioso para la industria textil en la provincia de Tungurahua, Ecuador.
