Item Análisis comparativo del índice de inflamabilidad horizontal bajo la norma ISO 3795, entre materiales compuestos de matriz poliéster reforzado con fibras naturales (fibra de cabuya, fibra de chambira, fibra de coco y fibra de totora) frente a la fibra de vidrio(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Mecánica, 2023-09) Chaglla Toapanta, Bryan Joel; Castro Miniguano, Christian ByronToday, the use of composite materials is very common in various professional and industrial applications, so it is necessary to ensure that the materials meet a high level of safety for the end user. Creating composite materials lies in the sole purpose of improving their properties, therefore, in the present investigation it is intended to evaluate and compare the fire resistance of polymer matrix composite materials reinforced with natural fibers (cabuya, chambira, coconut and totora) against a synthetic fiber (fiberglass), allowing us to consider a possible substitution of synthetic materials for environmentally friendly materials, which could open a new market for their commercialization. In order to establish the appropriate percentages for the formation of composite materials, the volumetric fractions of previously carried out titling works were taken into consideration, where the percentages that provide the best characteristics of the material are detailed, having these values, the amount of resin, fiber and catalyst necessary for each configuration was calculated, after that, all these components were placed in the mold sized according to the NTE INEN ISO 3795 standard, applying manual compression on each material, once the process was completed, it was necessary to you have to wait for the curing time and verify that the new material is fully solidified. Once the samples were ready, they were sent to the LIM-UTA Mechanical Research Laboratory, to be tested, finally the combustion rate of each material was obtained, where an average of 3.61 mm/min was recorded for the Cabuya fiber, 6.72 mm/min for the Chambira fiber, 4.91 mm/min for the coconut fiber, 8.46 mm/min for the reed fiber and 9.18 mm/min for the glass fiber. Based on the results, it was possible to determine that the cabuya fiber-reinforced polyester resin composite material with a value equivalent to 3.61 mm/min is the material with the lowest propagation index compared to the other fibers evaluated.Item Análisis de fallos y modos de fallos de los generadores térmicos de la Central Térmica LLigua de la empresa Eléctrica Ambato Regional Centro Norte S.A. y su incidencia en la disponibilidad(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. The present experimental work was developed through an investigation of internal combustion engines and synchronous alternating current generators, with the aim of analyzing the availability of the machines through failure analysis and failure modes (AMFE) in the main components, taking Weibull's mathematical method and graphic model as one of the main parameters where the reliability of the components is analyzed using Technical Note NTP 331, in the criticality analysis the most critical elements were determined using Technical Note NTP 679, the same data that served to carry out a statistical model with tests that accept or reject the hypothesis, and through investigations, proformas, some acquisition costs in engine components were determined. Maestría en Mecánica Mención Diseño, 2020) Agualongo Yansapanta, Luis Rolando; Castro Miniguano, Christian ByronThe present research "Analysis of reliability of machines and equipment by the law of Weibull in the area of extrusion of the company Holviplas S.A. and its impact on availability", has as its primary objective to determine the reliability using the mathematical and graphical method of Weibull. For the development of the analysis, statistical data of maintenance activities previously carried out were taken, which allowed us to identify, through an AMFE matrix, the most critical components or the most prone to failures. On the other hand also analyzed times mean time between failures(TMBF), average repair time (MTTR), operation time (To), the failure rate (Lamda), ideal reliability (Rt), Availability (D). Subsequently with the collected data the study of times of operation and stop of the machinery was carried out, by means of the information of the registers of maintenance, consecutively the statistical analysis was carried out to determine the reliability by means of the distribution of WEIBULL of each machine and equipment, so much with the mathematical method as the graphical method, which allowed to give a more relevant criterion, on which position of the curve of the bath are the machines and the pertinent actions that must be carried out for a process of maintenance. The research was based on the standards NTP 331 and NTP 679 for WEIBULL and AMFE analysis respectively. The software was programmed to determine reliability using the .m language of the specialised software and its GUIDE graphical interface editor. Finally, several practical applications were made to verify the correct functioning of the program, demonstrate its functionality and scope, obtaining a program that is able to calculate the parameters of the Weibull distribution, reliability values and graph with precision at the height of some commercial software , with a simple user interface.Item Análisis de la aplicación de retardantes de llama (hidróxido de aluminio, hidróxido de magnesio) en un material compuesto de fibra de vidrio con matriz polimérica utilizado en la fabricación del interior de carrocerías metálicas y su influencia en el índice de inflamabilidad(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Mecánica, 2019) Paredes Villacis, David Marcelo; Castro Miniguano, Christian ByronThe experimental work was developed with the purpose of analyzing the flammability index in composite materials (glass fiber + polyester resin and glass fiber + epoxy resin) but these were applied flame retardants at the time of manufacture. In the design of the experiment 12 combinations were obtained, obtaining for each of them its respective flammability index, the test pieces were manufactured and analyzed from the ISO 3795 standard. Ten of these combinations marked a value of zero for their flammability index, converting them into a self-extinguishing material, the remaining two showed average values of ⁄ ⁄. These two were compared with test tubes without fire retardant that were analyzed in the bank DIDE UTA, ESPOL and UTA. A correlation of distance vs time, flammability index and temperature was obtained, obtaining different correlations for each case. In the ANOVA analysis using software it was determined that the addition of flame retardants influences the flammability index of the materials used in the manufacture of the interior of metalworking bodies.Item Análisis de la incidencia de retardantes de llama (hidróxido de aluminio, hidróxido de magnesio) en las propiedades mecánicas de un material compuesto de matriz polimérica reforzado con fibra de vidrio utilizado en la fabricación del interior de carrocerías metalmecánicas(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. In this research 12 groups of composite materials were made, of which the results of their mechanical properties will be exposed, the specimens were manufactured according to the standards (ASTM D-3039) for traction, (ASTM D-7264) for bending and the standard (ASTM D-6110) for impact. For the analysis of results the 12 groups were compared with 2 extra groups, the latter being the original composite materials (fiberglass + polyester resin and glass fiber + epoxy resin), the respective correlations were made in which correlations were evidenced in mostly positive. The ISO 3795 standard establishes the following principles: Composite materials: Interior roof lining (Fiberglass + polyester resin) and Interior side lining (Fiberglass + polyester resin); Textile materials Pranna flexible polyester (seat lining) and Textile based on vinyl (floor lining) and Wood Triplex marine (body floors of mass transport vehicles) The allowed flammability indices are: 100 mm / min and 250 mm / min respectively. The INEN 1668 and 1323 norms indicate what the flammability index is allowed in the construction materials of bodywork interiors. For this purpose, the documentary and bibliographic research was carried out in order to establish the characteristics of the materials mentioned. The test specimens were then dimensioned according to the following standards: for composite materials (traction - ASTM D3039- 00, flexion - ASTM D7264-07 and impact - ASTM D5628-01) and textiles (traction - ASTM D5035-03). Para seleccionar la máquina adecuada se realizó las ponderaciones tomando en cuenta las siguientes características: mantenimiento, precio, consumo energético, disponibilidad de material en el mercado. Finalmente se determinó la opción acorde a nuestras necesidades se procede al diseño y a la selección de los elementos que conforman la máquina que ayudara a reducir deformaciones y obtener un cerchado con mayor uniformidad. In the transition towards a sustainable scenario by 2050, the importance of balancing economic growth, energy security, and emissions reduction is highlighted. The key lies in adopting emerging technologies, promoting research, improving governance, and analyzing the sustainability of the energy matrix. The study in Ecuador for the period 1990-2020 presents two prospective scenarios, BAU and SUST, exploring future scenarios considering economic, social, and environmental variables until 2050. The BAU Scenario projects a continuation of current trends, with a predominance of conventional energy sources and limited integration of clean technologies, reflecting traditional economic growth and persistent dependence on fossil fuels. On the other hand, the Sustainable Scenario (SUST) seeks an accelerated transition towards renewable energies and a significant reduction in greenhouse gas emissions, focusing on the widespread adoption of clean technologies to meet international commitments on climate change. The design of these scenarios aims to provide a clear vision of possible future trajectories and their implications, facilitating informed decision-making at the governmental, business, and community levels. The documentary and bibliographical modality project identified the characteristics of the mentioned materials, consequently proceeded to make specimens for the mentioned test, which must be established with the following standards (flexion, tensile with the ASTM D143, impact with ASTM E23). A control system was implemented with Arduino, which controls components such as servomotors, electrovalves, thermosensors, ignition systems between others, keeping the variables established above. After carrying out the tests, the proper functioning of the different components of the re-powered machine was verified, achieving optimum tests and determining temperatures and flammability indexes in the materials for the elaboration of internal automotive elements, which cannot be used for non-compliance a specific combustion index, established in Standards ISO 3795, NTE INEN 1323 and 1668.Item Automatización de un banco de pruebas para ensayos de inflamabilidad vertical de materiales textiles utilizados en el interior de las carrocerías(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. This will provide facilities to body manufacturers in the country, as the Ecuadorian technical regulation establishes a requirement for body manufacturers to standardize their units, also considering that the largest percentage of body manufacturers are located in zone three, to which we belong. For the execution of the project began with the revision of ASTM D 6413, which establishes the parameters of construction and operation of the vertical flammability test chamber, which establishes the parameters to control to select the necessary components for the automation of the vertical flammability testing machine. Selected components are proceeded with the assembly of the same and the design of the software that will allow the control of the machine from a computer, in addition to allowing the recording of data of the test performed. To perform the functional tests, five materials used inside the bodies were selected, with which they are sized according to the specifications of the standard used to proceed with the execution of the vertical flammability tests. In this test, the sample is subjected to a flame source of 38 mm in height for a period of 12 seconds, after which the performance data of each of the tested samples is observed and recorded to determine the required flammability index by the Ecuadorian technical regulation, in addition to calculating the carbonization index and post-glare time of each material tested.Item Comparación al desempeño del LIM-UTA, mediante la implementación de los requisitos técnicos que establece la norma NTE INEN-ISO/IEC 17043:2010 de interlaboratorio para la realización de ensayos de aptitud de inflamabilidad de acuerdo con la norma NTE INEN-ISO 3795(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. In the present project, comparisons were made of the performance of the Mechanical Research Laboratory of the Technical University of Ambato (LIM-UTA) in the performance of flammability proficiency tests, following the technical requirements established by the interlaboratory standard NTE INEN-ISO/IEC 17043:2010. The main objective is the accreditation and evaluation of the competence and reliability of the laboratory in the execution of the tests according to the parameters established by NTE INEN-ISO 3795. The comparison of LIM-UTA's performance was carried out following the guidelines established in the standards used. Representative samples of flammable textile materials were selected according to NTE INEN-ISO 3795 for evaluation. These samples were distributed to different participating laboratories, including LIM-UTA, in order to carry out the flammability suitability tests. At the end of the study, a report will be submitted analyzing the deviations, discrepancies and various parameters such as accuracy and the laboratory's ability to meet the limits of the acceptability criteria required by the NTE INEN-ISO/IEC 17043:2010 standard for the proficiency testing program.Item Contaminación provocada por el material particulado en el pulido de autopartes de fibra de vidrio para mejorar el ambiente laboral en la empresa Miviltech de la ciudad de Ambato(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Carrera de Ingeniería Mecánica, 2015-11) Aldás Mejía, Alexis Alejandro; Castro Miniguano, Christian ByronEn el presente proyecto se analiza la calidad del aire en la sección de pulido de autopartes de fibra de vidrio en la empresa MIVILTECH de la ciudad de Ambato, para mejorar el Ambiente Laboral y disminuir la contaminación al medio Ambiente, estos parámetros son necesarios para cumplir con la legislación de Seguridad Industrial, se determinó a que lugares está afectando este material particulado y el riesgo laboral al que está afectando, además se realizó mediciones con el dispositivo Aerocet 531S para obtener la concentración del material particulado, con el cual se determinó si las dosis de este material particulado está sobre los límites establecidos TLV TWA fracción inhalable para 8 horas laborales, el material particulado de 10 μm está sobre los límites recomendados, mientras que el material particulado de 5 μm está bajo los límites recomendados, la calidad de aire es deficiente. Al final de la investigación se diseñó un sistema de extracción localizada para el polvo de la fibra de vidrio en la empresa MIVILTECH de la ciudad de Ambato, para reducir la contaminación que se provoca al momento del pulido de la fibra de vidrio para su terminado.Item Desarrollar un plan de mantenimiento preventivo para la maquinaria de la empresa Imprenta “Morales” de la ciudad de Ambato(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. Facultad de Ingeniería Civil y Mecánica, Carrera de Ingeniería Mecánica, 2022-08) Punguil Hidalgo, Christopher Vinicio; Castro Miniguano, Christian ByronThis technical project was developed considering the needs of the company “Halley Corporation C.L.” to improve the maintenance activities in its die cutting section, the machines present in this section are of utmost importance for the productivity of the company so it was necessary to adopt a maintenance approach based on reliability to determine the activities that will allow the machines to function properly for extended periods of time. To identify the possible failure modes as well as their causes and effects, NTP 679 was used to determine the guidelines for failure modes and effects analysis, then NTP 331 was applied for Weibull statistical analysis, where the uptime, downtime and dead time were considered to evaluate the availability of the machines as well as their reliability. The final product of the project is a maintenance plan based on RCM that contemplates two maintenance activities for each failure mode, in 12 ranges with 57 activities applicable to the machines of the die-cutting section. This result was reached through the SAE JA1011 standard and thus maintenance tasks were programmed that will prevent wear of the machinery through planned activities to keep the machines in good condition.Item Desarrollo de un plan de mantenimiento preventivo en el área de fibra de la empresa Carrocerías Varma S.A. de la ciudad de Ambato(Universidad Técnica de Ambato. For this reason, the objective of the following project is to do a preventive maintenance in the machines of the fiberglass area of Carrocerías Varma, starting from an inventory of the machinery where statistical data were collected, operation times, external valuation, creating technical data sheets where the information of each machine is detailed, external valuation creating technical data sheets detailing the information of each machine proceeding first to apply the calculation of availability, failure analysis with the AMFE matrix in accordance with NTP 679, Criticality Analysis and finally proceeded to apply the mathematical model and graphical Weibull under the NTP 331 in order to determine the availability of each of the machines. As a result, numerical values and parameters of each machine were obtained, necessary to structure maintenance schedules carrying out preventive activities with their respective frequencies of time in the daily work, ensuring to improve the functionality of the machines and equipment, thus extending the useful life and giving a greater rentability to the company.
