Down Syndrome (SD) is a chromosomal disorder caused by the additional presence of part or all of chromosome 21, which causes a series of physical, physiological and cognitive disorders in those who suffer from it. The vestibular and optokinetic system of the brain is affected, so one of the main features of this syndrome is the loss of balance and motor coordination. The main objective of this research was to determine the effects of the application of music therapy on motor coordination and balance in athletes with Down syndrome belonging to Special Olympics Ecuador from Quito. An intervention protocol was applied with a sample of six male athletes with Down syndrome, whose ages range between 15 and 42 years. During 8 weeks of intervention, 3 times for week and 60 minutes each one. An evaluation was made at the beginning and end of the intervention through the KTK Test, and Romberg Test. This intervention was based on a training program with neurological music therapy of 15 exercises distributed in three difficulty levels high, medium and low. The intervention with neurological music therapy during the 8 weeks of intervention produces positive results on evaluated variables, improving the motor coordination by an average of 12% and the balance by 17%.

Mg.
Plyometric training is an explosive strength training that allows a better development of muscle strength, allowing a certain amount of force to be released quickly. Plyometric exercises are primarily based on a rapid eccentric movement, followed by a choppy damping, followed by an explosive concentric movement. For this reason, the physiotherapeutic intervention through the introduction of plyometric training in sports practice in impact sports has the main objective of this research to determine the effects of plyometric training through telerehabilitation on dynamic stability and power of the lower limb in athletes of the Parkour Ambato group. The study method of this research has the characteristics of a descriptive study, with a longitudinal design that included the participation of 7 athletes, for 6 weeks, with the performance of 2 workouts per week, obtaining a total of 12 workouts. It is concluded that dynamic stability was increased in both the dominant leg obtaining a 1.70% gain and in the non-dominant leg with 2.4% gain, the non-dominant leg obtaining greater benefits, thus reducing asymmetry. Power improved in the horizontal jump tests with a gain of 6.5% and countermovement jump height of 5.7cm. In addition, the benefits were greater for athletes with fewer years of experience in the sport.

“Ejecución del chute de balón y su relación con los desbalances musculares del tren inferior, en mujeres futbolistas amateur de la ciudad de Ambato.
(Universidad Técnica de Ambato - Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud - Carrera de Terapia Física, 2019-09-01) Ponce Salazar, Lissette Carolina; Espín Pastor, Victoria Estefanía Lcda. Mg.
Currently, women’s football has been widely disseminated, since in Ecuador it recently opened the first women's professional league. For this reason, most athletes practice it for love and their personal merits, since they do not have consecutive training they are the most prone to different injuries. For this reason, the present investigation aims to establish the relationship that exists between the execution of the ball kick and the muscular imbalances of the lower train, in female amateur soccer players in the city of Ambato. This investigation was carried out in a synthetic stage, making them execute 18 athletes, the ball kick recorded by means of consecutive photographs, then by means of the dynamometry physiotherapeutic test the strength of the extensor and flexor muscles of the knee was measured bilaterally and finally they were given a questionnaire related to training and previous injuries during the practice of said sport. This study belongs to the research line of Epidemiology and Public Health. It was concluded that the muscular imbalance with extensor predominance (quadriceps) is related to the contact phase (inner edge) to execute the chute, since they do not have greater strength in the hamstrings to perform a more powerful kick, there is also a high relationship, of muscle imbalance between knee flexors and extensors directly related to the appearance of injuries and finally it can be mentioned that the injuries are directly related to the training that the amateur soccer players have had or have.

“Prevalencia del valgo de rodilla en los estudiantes de la carrera de terapia física de la universidad técnica de ambato”
(Universidad Técnica de Ambato - Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud - Carrera de Terapia Física, 2018-03-01) Rosero Cuesta, Christian Andrés; Espín Pastor, Victoria Estefanía Lcda. Mg.
The knee valgus is a pathological circumstance that affects the correct alignment of the knees making them in this way that they take a form of (X), this pathological circumstance can occur in children, adults and elderly of different ages and sexes occurring in several ways at first without any pain but over time can cause big problems if this condition is not treated on time. Among the most likely causes for there be a deformity in our knees, we have that obesity is a great factor for it can produce a bad alignment of the lower limbs, another factor that may be essential is when there is a flat foot causing the distal part of the femur together with the proximal parts of the tibia, fibula, and the entire patella to be directed towards the inner part of the lower limb. There are some complications that can occur if the knee valgus if it is not treated on time, among the most common problems that can be mentioned are the distention of the adductor muscles of the thigh, this is a stretch of the muscles that perform the adduction of the hip, while on the other hand there is another great complication, and this is that an osteoarthritis of the outer region of the cartilages that are located both in the distal part of the femur bone and the cartilage found in the proximal part of the tibia. So this research has as aims to release how many Physical Therapy students that belong to the Faculty of Health Sciences of the Technical University of Amato have in their lower limbs a deviation of the angle of the knees known as a Genu Valgus. To demonstrate the question that we have proposed we are going to use the angle Q which is an angle formed by the middle line that leaves between the points of the anterior superior iliac spines and the middle part of the patella and another line that leaves the middle area of the tibia tuberosity with also the medial line of the kneecap, to assess if there is a deformation of knees, we also use a meter to take the height, a balance for the weight in pounds and a tab for the respective data which are names and surnames, age, sex and semester

Mg.
Diabetic peripheral neuropathy is one of the long-term complications of diabetes caused by dysfunction of the peripheral motor and sensory nerves because the sequelae of the disease can damage the biomechanics of gait. Therefore, the objective was to determine the effect of an exercise program to improve the biomechanics of gait in patients with diabetic peripheral neuropathy. The methodology used was a quantitative approach of analytical intervention since it has more than two variables, prospective and longitudinal. The intervention lasted 8 weeks with an initial and final evaluation. The population consisted of 17 patients. The intervention consisted of lower limb exercises and gait re-education. The results obtained with the Observational Gait Analysis test, in the different variables do not show significant changes, also in the characteristics of the march, the speed of the march, the cadence and stride were measured, where significant favorable changes were seen in the cade nce, where shows a value of p= >0.000 this in comparison of the initial and final evaluation. It was concluded that the exercises can help improve the biomechanics of gait in older adults with diabetic neuropathy by reducing the time between strides, cadence and gait speed, thus improving the quality of life.
