Credit risk is the possibility of incurring economic losses derived from the breach of obligations by the debtors and guarantors, in financial intermediation operations, this breach is manifested in the non-payment, or partial payment of the obligations agreed between the cooperatives and their partners; it is emphasized in the indicator called credit default, which warns of financial crises that result in problems of profitability and diminishing profits; for which the savings and credit cooperatives must have a solid backing composed of guarantees, solvency and repayment capacity for the collection of current fees.
