    Metadatos para la descripción archivística en expedientes académicos estudiantiles y docentes universitarios

    This investigative work raised as its main objective to determine the relationship between the metadata variables for the archival description in student academic records and university professors, being an applied research study, the respective diagnosis was made, with the purpose of classifying and identifying the documentary typologies produced in the archive. In the same way, the investigative background that denoted the evolution that has occurred to the archival processes was considered, for this reason it has been considered that through standardization and ICTs, resources can be described and used in a more efficient way. Thus, description schemes based on the ISAD (G) Standard were stipulated with its 26 component elements, given that they are flexible in structure and represent a general guide, in addition to being based on principles that respect the origin, hierarchical structures and multilevel. Finally, to expose the fulfillment of the general objective, as well as the specific ones, the series of student academic records of the Communication Career and for the series of university professors at the Faculty of Jurisprudence and Social Sciences of the Technical University of Ambato were taken as a sample. (Academic term October 2021 – March 2022). The documentary series have been produced in relation to administrative, academic and financial functions, describing them down to the simplest documentary unit. This investigation allowed to identify and show the current state of the documentary series, as well as the exact description of the areas that contain them, being appropriate the proposal of the metadata scheme that aims to provide timely, reliable and updated information, thus generating transparent, straight processes and guaranteed, for this purpose, recommendations and suggestions are presented to be taken into account for archival management and description activities that adopt information technology tolos and mechanisms.
