Cl. Mg.
Sleep quality is the measure of the hours of sleep a person needs to function integrally and psychological well-being is understood as an individual's appraisal of his or her life. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between sleep quality and psychological well being in university students. The sample used was 234 students between 18 and 30 years of age from the Faculty of Jurisprudence and Social Sciences of a University of Ambato. The research had a quantitative-non-experimental approach with cross-sectional and correlational scope. To measure the variables studied, the Pittsburg Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) adapted by Royuela and Fernandez in 1997 in Spain and the Ryff Psychological Well-Being Scale adapted by Diaz in 2006 in Spain were used. The results showed that there is no correlation between the variables; in sleep quality, poor sleep quality predominated (74.4%), in psychological well-being a moderate level (45.3%). In addition, no significant differences were found in sleep quality according to sex.
