Hearing screening is a non-invasive audiological test that consists of detecting problems in sound perception or hearing loss between 48 hours after birth and 6 months of age. The objective of this research was to identify the level of knowledge about neonatal hearing screening of university students. The study had a quantitative, descriptive, non-experimental cross-sectional approach applied to 177 nursing students from the Technical University of Ambato, using a questionnaire designed and validated with a Cronbach's Alpha of 0.9, guaranteeing the reliability of the instrument. Knowledge about the definition of Neonatal Hearing Screening is framed in 76.3%, Diseases that it detects 71.2%, Risk factors 70%, Neonatal Hearing Screening Techniques 66.7%, Complementary exams 67.8%, Signs alarm 50.8%. 50% of the population has theoretical knowledge that must be executed through pre-professional practices with the purpose of expanding their knowledge and improving their skills. Therefore, it is considered relevant to implement continuous training programs to strengthen the teaching-learning process in the academic training process of nursing students.
