(Universidad Tècnica de Ambato, Facultad de Jurisprudencia y Ciencias Sociales, Carrera de Trabajo Social, 2024-02) Poaquiza Aucatoma, Jenifer Nataly; Altamirano Altamirano, Silvia Jovanna
Detention and family separation are harmful experiences that expose children and adolescents to exploitation and abuse, causing them toxic stress with lasting impacts on their development; the migration of one or both parents significantly affects children, highlighting the importance of prioritizing their well-being. Hence, the need to promote resilience in this population group as it constitutes a human being's own tool, essential for the biopsychosocial development of adolescents. Resilience is presented as a fundamental skill, allowing adolescents to learn from their mistakes instead of becoming frustrated; it does not imply the absence of difficulties or anguish; in fact, people who have faced adversities or traumas usually experience emotional pain, sadness and probably the process of developing resilience is marked by various obstacles along the way. That is why this research topic is developed, which aims to analyze the level of resilience of students with migrant parents and then go on to compare with the group of students whose parents are not migrants, so the population for this study consisted of 197 high school students of the Santa Rosa Educational Unit, the research is descriptive, for its implementation the methodology used was quantitative, to measure resilience the instrument JJ46 was used
