Introduction: the present study was aimed at obtaining the results of previous research on the semiological update of arterial pulse measurement, since it is a vital parameter that allows the patient's state of health to be assessed, contributing to the prioritisation of nursing interventions during the development of the nursing process. Objective: to determine the semiology of the pulse in the nursing process. Methodology: this consisted of a compilation of information on the measurement of the arterial pulse, which was explored in the different existing databases in the different scientific search engines, such as Google scholar, Scielo, Pubmed and web pages of official bodies such as the WHO and guides of the Ministry of Public Health of Ecuador, using descriptors such as arterial pulse, vital signs, vital signs. Results: 39 valid bibliographic citations were obtained. Subsequently, an exhaustive reading and analysis was carried out, where the relevant articles were selected for this review. Conclusion: in this research we found relevant results about the arterial pulse in terms of atomic zones, technique and reference values that are useful during the application of the nursing care process.
