Item Huertos verticales en el cuidado de las plantas en niños de 3 a 4 años(Universidad Técnica de Ambato-Facultad de Ciencias Humanas y de la educación -Carrera de Educación Inicial, 2025-06-25) Arroba Freire Mélida Estefanía; Rodríguez Cedeño María Verónica; Universidad Técnica de Ambato-Facultad de Ciencias Humanas y de la educación -Carrera de Educación InicialThe present research, titled "Vertical Gardens in the Care of Plants for Children Aged 3 to 4 Years", sought to address a common problem in early childhood education: the limited participation of young children in the care of plants, mainly due to the absence of green spaces and vertical gardens. Many institutions have limited areas, which prevents children from having contact with the environment. Therefore, the use of vertical gardens is presented as a viable and educational option. In this context, the general objective of the research was to examine the use of vertical gardens in the care of plants in children aged 3 to 4 years. For this purpose, a qualitative approach methodology was used, which allowed for an in-depth exploration of the phenomenon. Observation sheets were used to document the behavior and participation of children during vertical garden activities, as well as interviews with teachers to understand their perspectives on the observed changes. The study included a group of children aged 3 to 4 years from the Francisco Flor Educational Unit, intentionally selected due to their low interest in plant care. The data collection procedures allowed for detailed observation of the educational process and the interaction of the children with the environment. Data triangulation resulted in a more complete understanding of the pedagogical impact of the vertical garden, making it possible to rigorously evaluate how its implementation directly the integral development of children.
