Item Beneficios de la aplicación de ejercicios interválicos en el dolor lumbar de origen mecánico(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Centro de Posgrados, 2023-07-06) Flores Farinango, Diana Verónica; Arcos Reina, Rafael AndrésLow back pain is a health problem that affects the quality of life of the person and their economy, causing psychological disorders such as depression and anxiety, increasing absenteeism and decreasing their capacity and quality of work, affecting the performance of companies and the well-being of workers.(1) Nearly 1,710 million people have musculoskeletal disorders in the world, being low back pain the most frequent, with a prevalence of 568 million people, being the most frequent cause of disability in 160 countries (UN). It is estimated that more than 90% of the population will experience low back pain at some point in their lives. (2) of which the vast majority present deficiencies when carrying out some activity. In 90% of cases of low back pain, the cause cannot be determined, calling it mechanical low back pain (3) This is a secondary injury to activities of daily life, work, academic or professional and leisure time, which subject the muscles of the back, abdomen and thigh to repetition movements with anterior flexion, flexion with torsion, work in an environment with vibrations and maintained postures. (4) Absolute rest in low back pain prolongs the pain and increases the incapacity for work, so it is recommended to maintain as much activity as possible while respecting the pain. It has been shown that people who maintain an active state have a faster recovery. The benefits of practicing exercises in low back pain improve stability and muscle strength with it the quality of life, slows the evolution of low back pain towards a disability.
