    The present project determined a mechanical maintenance plan based on the TPM for the catchment, conduction and machine house system at the Río Verde Chico hydroelectric plant of the company HIDROSIERRA SA, in the city of Baños de Agua Santa, the development of the plan maintenance began with the collection and information gathering of the mechanical elements that intervene in the three systems previously obtained for the subsequent obtaining of technical sheets of each mechanical element and their respective coding. The constant titling work with five of the twelve steps established by the Japanese Plant Maintenance Institute (JIPM) for the implementation of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), in addition to obtaining the preventive maintenance ranges, techniques established by the Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), such as Modal Failure and Effects Analysis (AMFE) and Criticality Analysis (CA), all for the generation of the maintenance plan. In addition, it includes the 5 “S” strategy, named after its initials in Japanese, the implementation of this strategy began with the identification and classification of elements, by means of the red labeling, the useful elements were relocated in the storage areas and for the non-useful elements were delivered to the qualified managers for their purpose or, in the case of garbage, to the garbage collectors controlled by the Illustrious Municipality of Baños, with the application of this strategy, we sought to create a cleaner, more orderly work environment and sure.
