    El impacto del entorno familiar del paciente que acude al centro de apoyo integral para personas con cáncer en el Cantón Quito

    Cancer is one of the diseases that has the greatest effect on people, not only in the physical and health, but also in the psychological, social and family relationships. The present study has sought, on the one hand, to understand the impact of the family environment on cancer patients in the "Centro de Apoyo Integral para personas con cáncer ", located in the canton of Quito, where several patients from different provinces of the country, They go with their relatives to receive different treatments, which sometimes require hospitalization. This disease, due to the patient's reactions to it, the tensions produced, economic areas, among other factors, sometimes causes family disagreements, estrangement, rupture, or in other cases, the family tends to be close to the patient to support him unconditionally. The field research developed with a sample of 149 patients from the Support Center and 149 relatives of these patients showed that the impact of the family environment of people suffering from cancer affects emotionally or physically in the patient who suffers of this disease in the support center. Once this relationship was determined, a proposal was proposed that integrates a program that facilitates the acceptance process and that presents options to adequately address the situation of the family and the patient, before the diagnosis of the disease of patients with cancer. The proposal details the processes proposed that will strengthen the family relationships of cancer patients attending the Centro de Apoyo Integral, in addition to providing relatives and patients with adequate information about cancer, so that they can better cope with the disease. Disease and finally link families to practices and activities that reduce the impact of the cancer patient's environment.
