Item IMPACTO DE LA HIGIENE DE MANOS EN LA SALUD DE LOS ESTUDIANTES UNIVERSITARIOS(2025-06-17) López Izurieta, Adonis Remigio; Moyano Calero, William Eudrillir; Universidad Técnica de Ambato / Facultad de Ciencias de Salud / Carrera de EnfermeríaObjective: The objective of this research was to evaluate the impact of hand hygiene on the health of university students. Method: It had a quantitative approach, observational design, cross-sectional and descriptive scope. To select the sample, a probabilistic sampling by clusters was used, that is to say, one parallel per semester. Descriptive statistical techniques were used to analyze the data obtained. Results: The findings derived from this research indicate that nursing students enrolled in the fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh semesters of the Universidad Técnica de Ambato have an adequate level of knowledge and attitudes regarding hand hygiene. Conclusion: The work environment and circumstances affect the consistency of hand hygiene practices, even though most students understand and apply them.Item REPERCUSIÓN DEL PERÍODO PRENATAL Y ROL MATERNO EN EL DESARROLLO ACADÉMICO UNIVERSITARIO: REVISIÓN BIBLIOGRÁFICA(2025-06-16) Guano Almache, Cristian Joel; Analuisa Jiménez, Eulalia Isabel; Universidad Técnica de Ambato / Facultad de Ciencias de Salud / Carrera de EnfermeríaIntroduction: The period the maternal role can have significant repercussions on the academic development of university students. Previous studies have identified challenges such as the balance between academic and parental responsibilities, as well as prenatal factors that influence the cognitive and socio-emotional development of children. Objective: To analyze the main repercussions of the prenatal period and maternal role on the academic development of university students. Methodology: A systematic search was carried out in electronic databases such as PubMed, Scielo and Google Scholar, following the PRISMA guidelines. Observational studies published between 2019 and 2024 that investigated the relationship between prenatal factors, motherhood and academic performance in university students were included. Results: The maternal role during university studies presents considerable challenges, although with adequate support, some student mothers manage to persist and be academically successful. Effective coping strategies such as time management and the use of technologies to facilitate learning were identified. Conclusion: The prenatal period and the maternal role have multifaceted repercussions on college academic development. It is crucial that educational institutions implement specific support policies and services for student mothers, considering both academic and childcare needs.Item PERTINENCIA DE LA ASIGNATURA DE ENFERMERÍA BÁSICA EN LOS PROGRAMAS DE ESTUDIO DE LA CARRERA DE ENFERMERÍA(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Enfermería, 2024-05-28) Ocaña Fernández, Marjorie Jacqueline; Mejias-De-Duarte, MarianelaIntroduction: One of the main challenges that nursing students face when starting clinical practices is to satisfy the basic needs of the hospitalized patient, so it is necessary that from the beginning the student receives relevant academic training that allows them to acquire basic knowledge and skills to correctly perform procedures. Knowledge of fundamental procedures is acquired in the Basic Nursing subject, as part of the basic training axis. Objective: Determine the relevance of the basic nursing subject in the Nursing Career study programs. Method: This research was a descriptive, exploratorycross-sectional literature review type study. Results: The basic nursing subject is part of the basic component of the degree, generally it is taught in two semesters, which are located between the first and third semester. The credit units range between 3 and 5. The contents are grouped according to needs. Learning and evaluation strategies are based on knowing, doing and knowing how to do. Conclusions: The Basic Nursing subject is relevant for the training of nursing students. This provides the fundamental foundation for future nurses to acquire the knowledge and develop skills to provide quality care to patients.Item Factores de riesgo para el consumo de drogas en adolescentes(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Carrera de Enfermería, 2022-10-12) Marcial Tisalema, Jennifer Soraya; Guarate Coronado, Yeisy CoronadoThe use of psychotropic substances represents a public health problem that affects more than 269 million people worldwide, with a higher incidence among adolescents, consideredthe most vulnerable group. The objective of this study is to determine the risk factors for drug use among adolescents in an educational unit in Ambato, Ecuador. This is a quantitative, descriptive, field and cross-sectional study. The population consisted of 514 students between 15 and 17 years of age from an educational unit, with a sample of 347 students. The instrument used was the risk factor survey applicable to adolescents at the secondary level. Consent and assent were requested from the participants after informing them of the objectives of the study. The results showed that 306 adolescents consumed drugs, 73.2% of whom were between 16 and 17 years of age, 51.6% were female, 74.2% lived with both parents, 78.8% of the students reported a regular relationship at home, 85.6% maintained an average level of communication with their parents and 77.1% of the students who consumed drugs said they were aware of the subject. However, 85.9% do not consider tobacco and alcohol as drugs and 37.9% admit to having consumed by choice. A relationship was found between the variables sex and knowledge about drugs and drug use in adolescents. Finally, the high level of lack of knowledge about drugs influenced drug use.Item Conocimientos sobre covid-19 en estudiantes de la carrera de Enfermería(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de Salud /Carrera de Enfermeria, 2022-09-01) Martínez Escobar, Karla Estefanía; Fernández Soto, Gerardo Fernando PhD. Mg.Es fundamental que los estudiantes de enfermería que estarán en primera línea en la prestación de servicios de salud tengan los suficientes conocimientos sobre el COVID-19 para que puedan adoptar prácticas apropiadas ante esta patología poco conocida y que afecta a todo el mundo. Objetivo: Evaluar el nivel de conocimientos sobre COVID-19 en estudiantes de la Carrera de Enfermería. Metodología: cuantitativa, descriptiva no experimental, la muestra fue censal conformada por 102 estudiantes de paralelos donde se evidenció el 10% de alumnos positivos para COVID-19 en el mismo curso, sexto semestre sección B, séptimo semestre paralelo A y D, como instrumento de recolección de información se utilizó una encuesta de conocimiento en torno a información general, transmisión, sintomatología, diagnòstico diferencia ymedidas de prevención del COVID19. Resultados: el 100% de los estudiantes tuvo conocimientos adecuados sobre los mecanismos de transmisión, el 72% de estudiantes se sexto “B”, 73% de séptimo “A” y 79% de séptimo “D” mostró un conocimiento adecuado respecto a la sintomatología, el 72% de sexto “B”, 61% de séptimo “A” y 67% de séptimo “D” mostraron un nivel inadecuado de conocimiento en torno a la diferencia clínica y finalmente el 78% de estudiantes de sexto “B”, 85% de séptimo “A” 76% de séptimo “D” un nivel adecuado de conocimiento sobre medidas de prevención. Conclusión: La mayoría de estudiantes mostró un nivel de conocimiento adecuado sobre medidas de transmisión, sintomatología y medidas de prevención mientras que fue inadecuado en torno al diagnóstico diferencial.Item Salud visual en el estudiante de la carrera de enfermería de la Universidad Técnica de Ambato a causa de la teleeducación(Universdidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Carrera de Enfermería, 2021-09-01) Chicaiza Inguillay, Jenny Alexandra; Escobar Suárez, Mónica Tatiana Mgs. Lic.The last decade has been characterized by the increase in new technologies, daily the population continues to exceed the recommended number of hours in front of data display screens. All this after the pandemic began and produced that many of the activities that we usually carry out in person became virtual, such as education. The objective of the research was to establish the visual health condition in the students of the Nursing Career of the Technical University of Ambato. A quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional study was carried out, carried out in the period May 2021-June 2021. The sample consisted of 297 students from the Nursing Career of the Technical University of Ambato. To whom the Questionnaire / Scale of Computer Vision Symptoms CVSS17 was applied. This data collection instrument was developed, validated and qualified through Rasch analysis. In addition, it was tested by researchers from the Complutense University of Madrid. It was obtained as results that the majority of students, that is, 32% (96) present a Level 4 or Severe of visual symptoms, followed by 28% (82) who result in a Level 5 or Very Severe, we continually find those who have a Level 3 or Moderate 24% (71), likewise 8% (23) in Level 2 or Mild, and in Level 1 or Asymptomatic 8% (25). It was concluded that the visual health condition of the students of the Nursing Career is greatly affected by Tele-education.Item Briefing y debriefing y su utilidad como herramienta en simulación clínica para estudiantes de ciencias de la salud(Universdidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Carrera de Enfermería, 2021-03-01) Cajamarca Chillagana, Doris Emperatriz; Velasco Acurio, Evelin Fernanda Lic. Mg.Simulation within the teaching process of health professionals, manages to reduce the distance between students and professional activities related to clinical care, being the Briefing and Debriefing tool used in clinical simulation for students of Health Sciences, with This premise, a scientific investigation was developed with the following objective: Determine the usefulness of briefing and debriefing as a tool in clinical simulation for Health Sciences Students. A descriptive review was carried out, analyzing a search in electronic databases. It has been of great importance to collect from the state of the art, on the documental research in a systemized way, giving, as a result, a deeper analysis which contributes to the study topic of those aspects related to these tools in learning environments aspects related to these tools in learning environments, where teachers and students act together who must reconsider and deliberate why they make certain decisions, evaluating their actions individually, as well as your act on the team. The usefulness of the briefing and debriefing was defined as part of the clinical simulation to achieve competencies and skills in Health Sciences students, a reason that encourages thinking about developing training programs for teachers and students as a methodology that facilitates the correction of possible errors that reduce the effectiveness of this process.Item Síndrome de burnout en estudiantes de la carrera de enfermería de la Universidad Técnica de Ambato durante la pandemia de covid-19(Universdidad Técnica de Ambato/Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud/Carrera de Enfermería, 2021-03-01) Quispe Cocha, Ana Carolina; López Herrera, José Luis Lic. Mg.The COVID-19 pandemic was a wave that swept through several sectors where the aftermath of the virus felt carbonated; the educational sector whose objective is to promote an academic and comprehensive training for students within its academic training models seeks to safeguard the lives of students. Objective: To detect the presence of Burnout syndrome in nursing students at the Technical University of Ambato during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methodology: descriptive, quantitative, cross-sectional design, a Maslach Burnout Inventory questionnaire was applied to a population consisting of 1060 students legally enrolled in the period September 2020-February 2021, from which a sample of 170 students was obtained. Mg.The "classification of sanitary waste by students entering the simulation laboratory of the Faculty of Health Sciences of the Technical University of Ambato in the academic year September 2019 February 2020", aimed In general, evaluate how the classification of sanitary waste is carried out by students who carry out simulation practices. The research was quantitative, for which data collection surveys were applied to determine the status of the problem, sampling was applied using the formula n= Za 2 *p*q/d2(N-1) + Za 2*p*q, where the population was 778 students and a sample of 161 students was obtained. It was applied as it was given a solution to the problem. According to its temporal scope, it was cross-sectional since the study was carried out at a certain time. According to its objective it was descriptive, since we were able to describe the context of the problem, and according to the framework where it was carried out it was field since it was carried out in the simulation laboratory, where the problem arose. From the data collected through the review document and the application of student surveys, it was obtained that, in the simulation laboratory, the waste generated during the clinical simulation practice is properly classified, more often common waste is generated, followed by infectious wastes and short sharps unlike special ones are rarely generated.Item “Estilo de vida y su influencia en la aparición del síndrome metabólico en estudiantes de la carrera de Enfermería”.(Universidad Técnica de Ambato - Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud - Carrera de Enfermería, 2018-10-01) Palate Criollo, Erika Viviana; Villa Plaza, Carmen Mercedes Lic. Mg.The prevalence of metabolic syndrome worldwide is alarming because the syndrome has acquired an endemic character especially in the university population where lifestyles are unhealthy. That is why the present investigation was developed with the objective of identifying the lifestyle and its influence on the appearance of the metabolic syndrome in students of the nursing career of the Technical University of Ambato. For which a longitudinal and explanatory prospective methodology was used where the facts were described as presented. The study included 50 nursing students, who were selected by simple random sampling. As data collection techniques, a survey on the lifestyles of nursing students was used, as well as the review of laboratory tests to check for the presence of metabolic syndromes. With the research it was concluded that the majority of students' lifestyles are inadequate because they can not always take care of their nutrition, oral health, physical activity, adequate rest, taking care of themselves in mobilization and the sense of life, factors highly predisposing to the appearance of diseases or alterations in health, such as metabolic syndromes.
